I brought my dog for a nail trim which they were fully aware he struggles with and helped me through the process only to choose to muzzle him and create further trauma and worsen this process. I'm not sure why it makes since to muzzle him rather than stopping all together considering they weren't able to complete the nail trim anyway and has created further trauma related to nail trims and more anxiety and broken the trust of a newer patient. Owners should be provided the choice of a muzzle or refusal of service because now they've created a mistrust of my dog and lasting anxiety when being taken to the vet or a nail trim.

All three of our pets have now had their first annual visits at this practice and we've been very impressed with the care and attention they've received. Dr. Turner in particular really impressed me with his gentle demeanor and the time he spent with our kitty yesterday. He seemed generally interested in understanding her personality and he's the first vet to suggest a potential solution for the chronically cracked dry nose she experiences says every winter. It's easy to schedule appointments, the staff are warm and welcoming and when you come in, you'll see your pet's name on the blackboard by the door, which is a really nice touch.

I also said I didn't want him vaccinated that day because he's fighting an infection (you're not supposed to vaccinate children or animals if they're fighting an infection) and I could tell she did not like me saying no. She's not a vet. She's a scam artist. $180 to tell me just to use a $7 cream from CVS. If she actually cared about animals, she would have come in, examined him, told me I needed a cream and if it didn't work come back for more testing and make sure to come back for vaccines when he's healthy again.

Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services in Wilder Kentucky is horrible…read more I'm sharing this to warn anyone who needs an emergency vet near here so they can avoid them. Our cat, Rudy, was battling a lot of serious health issues. He was a rescued cat and suffered seizures and was fiv positive. We were on a palliative care treatment plan with our regular vet, who is amazing but was closed. Our cat had a couple of seizures over the weekend then experienced what appeared to be a stroke late Sunday evening. We rushed him to the nearest emergency vet because he was in pain, scared, and with his poor health status we decided to offer him mercy through euthanasia. When we got to the emergency vet they explained that the vet would assess him, place the catheter IV in his leg, and then bring him to us to spend as much time saying goodbye as we needed, then they would perform the sedation and euthanasia with us holding him. They took him to an exam room to insert the catheter, a procedure I've watched dozens of times over the years with animals I've taken to various vets. When an hour passed we asked the front desk what the delay was and they said, "Rudy was being ornery and they were having a hard time putting the catheter in" which was an immediate huge red flag as Rudy has tolerated painful medical procedures without flinching or complaint with our regular vet, who described him as a very docile patient and "wished every cat was as easygoing as Rudy" Another half hour and I approached the front desk and said I needed to be with Rudy and I was concerned about the issues and delays. The person at the front desk called then said they weren't answering their phone then walked back to the exam room to get them. The vet came and asked if they could mildly sedate him and we agreed. More time passed and we approached the front desk yet again because at this point I was considering other vets, other options. Something wasn't right. Then the vet came and talked to me in the hallway and said they had bent the needles trying to place the catheter and that "he had very thick skin" and I told her to bring our cat to us. When they brought him to us he was so sedated his skin was cold and he was barely breathing. Every leg has been stuck multiple times and I watched her try several times unsuccessfully in the rear leg, with the vet and the tech debating where his veins were. At this point I told them to stop and the vet decided he should be euthanized by cardiac stick. I definitely did not want to have him euthanized by cardiac stick. I wanted to leave with my cat but they insisted they would legally have to take him out of sedation in order for us to leave with him, although I've brought home other animals in the past from other vets who were sedated from medical procedures. At this point, I felt he had suffered so much at this vet and he is traumatized by car rides, that I had very few options. Not only did this vet rob us of a small window of time to say goodbye to our cat before they made him practically comatose with heavy sedation, but they poked and prodded for nearly two hours without informing us of any issues with the catheter. Instead, in our grief and anxiety we were forced to go searching the front desk for answers, horrified by the incompetent catheter attempts, and what I know in my heart to be a botched euthanasia. My sweet, gentle baby boy suffered needlessly at the hands of these ill trained, unskilled "vets" who also condescendingly explained that cardiac stick euthanasia was fairly common and humane. Which is simply not true. I have rescued animals for decades, was a licensed wildlife rehabber, and have worked closely with vets to understand care, treatment, and eventually a humane passing for many animals, whether rescued or long-term animal companions. I have never experienced a veterinarian hospital so completely unprofessional, incompetent, and as apathetic as Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services. Please do not ever take any animal to this awful place. Rudy deserved so much better.

I initially gave my consent but when a co-worker told me they put a mask over the cat's face and it is VERY STRESSFUL, I immediately revoked my consent and drove and picked up my cat. Ft. Thomas A. H. Vet had this same cat eating out of his hands in minutes. His examine results were that she was fine and in generally good condition other than stress-related hair loss due to recent Tomcat addition to household. *****

Without me having to ask, the girl at the front desk asked the vet if they could switch it to tablets which was way cheaper and way easier for my dog to take. I was so impressed and happy with how it was handled and happy that I didn't have to pay extra. I believe her name is Raven, she was working the front desk and helped with switching the meds. I told her I was heading to an appointment and would have to come back to pick up the meds. She sent me a text to let me know that the meds were able to be switched to tablets and that they were ready to be picked up.

I had a stroke and then I was homebound so I had to use the mobile unit for a few years well last year while here on a home visit, something happened to my dog in that truck.she's not the same dog and she does not trust me. She does not trust Petwow anymore. I had to move her to a different vet. Because when I take her there, they have to sedate her to even examine her and I'm not doing that to her anymore She's 10 years old something happened. I don't know what because I wasn't there but my dogs actions prove that something happened to her she's generally a very sweet girl and she is not because of this she doesn't trust me anymore either so it's been difficult. At the time, I brought in the folder which contains all of their medical records. I assumed copies were made. I took Luna to see Dr. Gore on Wed, 9/23/26 for a well visit. It was supposed to cost $62. As always, I end up with medications I don't need and can't use. Dr. Gore felt of Luna's body and checked her teeth. Luna is challenging when I brush their teeth and I was concerned that they needed to be cleaned. She said they did. The only other thing that occurred during the visit was that she was weighed and I was told that she needed to lose 1 pound. I expected more from a well visit. The majority of the visit was spent discussing the issue of vaccinations. After my 3 cats were vaccinated one year ago, they vomited at least 30 times before I could find a vet very close to me who was open and willing to see them. In addition, they were panting, high fever, rapid heartbeats, facial swelling, and lethargy. After a $800 vet bill they told me to take them to the ER to be monitored and let me know the cost would be $3000 to $5000. I did and had to bring one back the next day. I contacted the vaccination company and no one else reported a reaction with those batches (rabies/FVRCP) of vaccinations. I told Dr. Gore they almost died and we did not want them vaccinated. I told her they were vaccinated a year ago and I had brought in all of their records last October, but she couldn't find them. They never go outside, don't want to go outside, and our shoes are left in the garage. She said she is required by law to do the rabies vaccine and would not back down. I was extremely upset to risk my cat's life, but she said she could give her medicine (a shot) and send some home and we could wait in the office in case there was a reaction. I eventually agreed, as I assumed they were at risk of a huge fine if they didn't give the rabies vaccination, and I wanted Luna's teeth to be cleaned. When I got home, I was angry that the Luna went through the pain of a shot and an extremely painful rabies vaccine shot. It is kept in the fridge and much more upsetting that a typical shot. I didn't know that a 1 year old could get a 3-year vaccination but she had gotten one only a year ago. She went through all that pain and trauma for nothing. I asked that the manager call me. She did, didn't answer when I called her back and called at 8am this morning, but didn't return my phone call. I called again after Luna vomited twice and appeared to be sick. I was up until 4am this morning monitoring and worrying about her. I finally slept in a recliner with her on my lap. I feel horrible because I wanted to take Luna for well visit to help her and only ended up hurting her. The $62 I was quoted ended up being almost $300. This was the second time I made the appointment and stated that it was a well visit. They did not ask me to bring in proof of vaccinations, and they should have made copies last October anyway. When I brought in a feral cat living in my home and my foster cat, I was not asked for proof that they had been vaccinated. Dr. Koopmans and Gore appeared to believe me and did not demand a rabies vaccine. I volunteer at my animal shelter a great deal and talked to an animal control officer. Nothing would happen to a vet office that doesn't vaccinate and I would be fined no more than $30 if Luna escaped and an officer caught her. The vet can simply write a statement regarding her reaction to the vaccine, and I would not be fined at all! Do not go here. They don't care about your pet. They just want $$$.

Each person here involves you in the care of your animals with such amazing transparency, candidness, and honesty. They will show you the X-rays they take in the back so that you can follow along, they provide you with multiple care options when necessary, and are never judgmental about the care you can or cannot afford. They have an incredibly clean facility and amazingly kind staff. Twice I have come to them with medical emergencies, and twice they have saved my cats' lives. I truly cannot recommend this practice enough!!

A week to the day, he was euthanized at home by a different vet. His ER report noted an injury that Ft. Mitchell never noted: he went in to Ft. Mitchell for weakness but came home disabled, and he was totally incontinent within 48 hours of his initial visit with Dr. Kellner. The only attempt at empathy from this office was a cheap plant: I spent over $1,000 for that initial visit, and then I spent another $1,000 to put him to sleep, but all I received was a cheap plant--no phone call from a human.
