You know the menu before you even see it. Anich is, in my opinion, the very best of them all. Be aware that the food is HEAVY and served in large portions. If you order one of the classic popular meat dishes (roast pork, schnitzel, goulash, etc) you should either be very hungry, prepared to share, or willing to ask for a takeout box. It's a ton of food and it's all stellar. I'm trying and failing to think of something we ordered there that was less than delicious and I can't. The service was not especially fast but I don't mark this kind of restaurant down for that because the meal is supposed to be a slow one. The local wine selection is excellent as is the beer. During a very crowded time you may be asked to share a large table with strangers or so we heard, but in my visits I never saw this happen. It was winter. Summer may be a different story. The building is lovely as are the several dining rooms. If you're looking for a light meal go elsewhere. If you want to be stuffed with dumplings, meat, gravy, and all that great stuff don't go elsewhere.

The decor is very traditional without being too old fashioned. The menu is small, but exquisite and seasonal. I can highly recommend the Rehrücken with Pfifferlinge. If you want to secure a spot on the terrace during summer months, a reservation is recommended. This place is very popular with both visitors and locals.

Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and also spoke English. We had visited Hall in the morning, then headed to Innsbruck. We decided to eat dinner in Hall, thinking it would be quieter. At 6:30 on a Saturday evening we had trouble finding anything open, other than bars. This restaurant was open and it was everything we were lookin for. The best meal I have had on our trip. Because we did not have a reservation we had to share a table with a young couple from Belgium that were on their honeymoon. That also was a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
