What we found was a spinal condition that required surgery on my neck and my lower back. Most concerning, the conversation included an unsolicited reference to religion (specifically God) that was not relevant to my medical care. I immediately made it clear that I do not share those beliefs and did not wish to discuss religion in a healthcare context. Instead of acknowledging this boundary, the nurse doubled down, scoffed in response and stated "well, that's your belief".
