You should avoid hiring this attorney!! Very unprofessional, non communicative, talks a big game but doesn't bring anything to the table. The office is almost impossible to get a response from. They say they will do one thing and then you never hear about it again and it just vanishes. They also cant give you a straight answer, they go in circles and you end the conversation with even more questions than you did when you called. They asked for an initial retainer (which is fine) and we NEVER received a statement as to where that retainer went. They later asked for another $3,000 (which keep in mind we had put $2,000 down already and had not seen a statement as to where that money went). So right now he has gotten $5,000 from my husband and I, and we have not seen one statement showing where this retainer went. I hired him regarding a custody case. Mu husband and I were not told where to go on our court date or what room to wait by. We arrived early (thankfully) and waited fifteen minutes until we were told no court dates were happening on that floor. We had to go around and ask people where we should be. Our attorney or his office should have contacted us prior and informed us as to where we needed to meet. Once we found where we were supposed to be our attorney (Gene) was cracking jokes right in front of us with the opposing attorney and GAL. We did not feel like we were being represented well at all. Gene was always telling that the other attorney had all these "ideas" regarding trying to solve this, none of which made any sense, just more money in their pockets. Gene had NO opinions of his own, and almost lost sight in what I wanted out of this whole thing. He talked a big game, and yet he has yet to come through. He does whatever the opposing counsel wants him to do. He does not stand up for what you (his client) wants. I hired him, and after the fact was told by multiple sources that he was a lousy attorney.
