This is one awesome law firm. I highly recommend them…read more.. Very professional, understanding honest and compassionate which are hard traits to find in this field. If you're looking for a law firm to represent you, look no further. If I ever need another attorney, this is where I'm returning. Thank you Johnson Law Group.

I hired attorney Brendan Bukalski for a serious criminal matter and paid my legal fee in full. My…read moreunderstanding was that this payment covered representation through the conclusion of my case. Instead, Mr. Bukalski withdrew while my charges were still pending, and the firm refused to return even a portion of my money. Throughout my representation, I repeatedly requested updates and explanations about why my case remained unresolved for years. Rather than feeling supported, I often felt dismissed, and my reasonable questions were treated as distrust. As a domestic violence survivor, I was particularly disappointed by what I perceived as a lack of sensitivity toward my circumstances. My efforts to work with victim advocates and explain my experiences often felt unwelcome. Comments made about my emotional distress were especially troubling. I also obtained an advocacy letter supported by numerous domestic violence organizations and requested confirmation that it had been forwarded to the State's Attorney. I never received the clear confirmation I requested. My greatest concern is the financial outcome. Despite withdrawing before my case concluded, the firm retained my entire fee, maintaining that the work performed justified doing so. This was especially frustrating because I was told that meaningful progress depended largely on another person's criminal proceedings. I also did not receive regular billing statements, and records later provided raised additional questions about billing transparency. I was left with unresolved charges, the need for new representation, and no refund. I have since raised my concerns with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. My dissatisfaction is not about an unfavorable case outcome. It is about communication, transparency, professionalism, and the treatment I received as a paying client. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this attorney or firm.
