We went in the summer and it was a 2.5 - 3 hrs drive but it took us much longer since we took the motorcycle and had to take breaks. The trails were fun and they let us experience them for free since we didn't hog up a parking spot! We met a family going there to do some camping and were surprised to see a few people we knew from Toronto there to do some photography work. The beach there is really nice, the water was very clear but looked freezing since it was early summer when we went there. There's no soft sands, the beach bed is scattered with rocks but it makes the hike a little more difficult (just for fun) - but there are easier trails too. This is an excellent place to take your wife/girlfriend to impress her or show your kids the wildnerness. My boyfriend has suggested this place to his guy friends several times already. Great place to experience nature first-hand and not have to go too far from the city. Also, it's not crowded like Wasaga Beach and much more natural.

Most of the trails are suitable for the less-fit among us or children, however things get a little hairy on the coast line. We were able to navigate our dog through it fine, but even had to pick him up to lift him off/onto some big rocks near the grotto. The camping situation is decent. We stayed in the Tamarak section and there was a lot of privacy between the sites. Be forewarned though, there are vault toilets. There is running water for a sink by the toilets and the watering spickets. There are no showers! Sites come with a fire pit, an over-the-fire grill, and two picnic tables. Another word of caution: you have to get a pass from the park office in order to park and go to the grotto. We camped, so we were able to hike to the grotto (also it was the quiet season still) however it is my understanding that they often turn people away once parking is full (and it sounds like that happens frequently on the weekends). So try to be flexible about your schedule and plan out other things to do/see in the area during your stay on the peninsula.

It's loaded in delicious flavour - do yourself a favour and try it. The hotel rooms here are simple, but nice and clean. Would happily stay here again.

We stayed in the Sutton room which features a stunning view of the water in every single room. The sitting room is separate from the bedroom and is easily the wow factor in the entire space. The ceiling is sky high and the perfect setting for reading and relaxing. Staff is welcoming and makes your comfort a priority. We felt comfortable the second we entered the inn. The included breakfast, hot tub and steam room were all great bonuses but ultimately the memory of curling up with my gf in robes while the picture perfect landscape of Georgian Bay filled our windows will keep us coming back to Cobble Beach Inn!

one of the better parks I have been to, but the orientation is a bit weird…read more the park is literally split up by the falls with no choice but to walk all the way around if you want to see the park on both sides. the park it self is very beautiful during all times of the year, and in the summer time is very popular for swimming, with people diving off of some of the falls that have formed. this location is also great for walking and for just seeing nature at its best, wildlife and the forestry. bring some food to feed either the fish or the ducks or both! parking is enforced at this park pretty strictly, when we entered there was a ranger inspecting vehicles, and when we were leaving same thing. pretty happy I came here, and I would love to come back, especially in the fall or even the winter months.

I did the hike to Harrison park and back which took about 1.5hrs LOL. There's a nice stream you can go into and lots of photo ops. Once you're done that, Inglis falls is right around the corner which has stunning views. In terms of the trail, there's a flatter route which isn't very challenging. If you decide to take the other route, there's a lot of elevation gain. My watch said I did about 100m in elevation gain. Tbh I still feel it in my legs!

The Spirit Rock Conservation area consists of the Corran Ruins - a barn and estate from over 100…read moreyears ago. The stone work is still evident (and even a window frame) - but the area around much of it is overgrown - it is cool to see - but hard to circle in entirety. There's good signage about the history. There's an outhouse for... well... you know. Beyond the Corran Ruins is a circular-ish trail that takes about an hour that gives views of the bay and a sense for what the land was like before people came. It is rocky and a little hilly on the bay side - it is smooth and dirt on the non-bay side. There's a part where you can take a steep spiral staircase down the cliff to the bay and enjoy the beach. Good stopover for about 90 min - 2 hours if you do everything.
