I have to concur with the reviews below. Their monthly charge is high, but not extortionate, but for that they do almost nothing.
I have lived in my building for 4 years and the stairwell lock has been broken for all of that period, despite them frequently sending someone to 'repair' it, meaning anyone can come in and out.
Equally, it never feels like they want the best deal for me. For example, over a 3 month period at the end of last year they spent £372 of our money on maintenance of the stairwell lighting. There are 4 bulbs in the stairwell. And at the time of billing only 3 were working. Haha, funny if it wasn't my money!
On top of that, a lady in our building used to clean the stairs and we payed her through Redpath Bruce, until they decided that she wasn't doing a good enough job and stopped paying her, but briefly continued charging us. Thanks to this dispute, no one cleans our stairs, but at least we pay less, I guess...
We have recently discovered that someone in our building stopped paying their factor bill in at least 2008. We are contractually obliged to pay his share, which is fair enough, it is in the contract after all. However despite this occurring more than 4 years ago, and indeed, before I even owned my flat, this is the first mention of charges accruing. They insist it must be repayed within 6 months or they will stop providing factoring services(but continue to charge!).
This means that on top of their charges, and paying off their terrible choices of workmen I will be paying £106 a month to the factor.
If you have a choice of factor, don't choose Redpath Bruce! read more
