This is a saga over about 6 years--went in for a cleaning, tooth in back had 'the black line of…read moredoom.' (his words) This tooth had a previous filling, was without pain. He insisted it needed a crown. Pain starts at a low level following the crown. Well now it 'needs a root canal.' Continued pain, again at a low level. A year ago, routine cleaning elsewhere (I moved) there is an infection. Multiple courses of antibiotics--no relief. Just had it pulled because pain significantly flared up. Would this have happened without his 'helpful' first intervention. No way to know. The dentist removing the tooth did one of those bite tests with the colored paper and said the crown was hitting way too hard--so did his intervention and the poorly made crown cause this series of event. At least partially. Am I to blame for having the cavity in the first place, at least partially too

During my root…read morecanal procedure, it felt like, in my opinion, the dentist was more focused on flirting (commenting on her athletic body, talking about his gym routine, discussing upcoming trip and discussing his finances) with his dental assistant than on giving my treatment the attention and care it required. I felt like Dr. Sherwood lacked professionalism and focus and it was very concerning in my opinion. Following the procedure, I was not given proper instructions regarding care and dietary restrictions for my temporary crown. Due to what I believe was inadequate attention and follow-up care, the tooth became damaged and eventually broke, leaving me with no option but to have it extracted. A dental procedure as serious as a root canal requires a dentist's full attention, clear communication, and careful oversight. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling neglected and questioning the level of care I received. The extraction that Dr. Sherwood completed was a better experience with communication than the root canal and he was much more professional during the procedure. However immediately following the extraction I have experienced severe swelling that makes my words slur when I speak and a stitch hanging out of where my tooth used to be that rubs on my tongue constantly so unfortunately I cannot recommend Dr. Sherwood. I would encourage patients to carefully consider their options and choose a provider who prioritizes patient safety, professionalism, and quality care. To Dr. Sherwood's credit he does have excellent reviews online and I did come in at the end of his day for a two hour procedure and I felt like that did cause him some frustration. His front end staff are awesome (scheduler, office assistant, billing person) and very easy to talk to. His office is very clean and modern. Additionally, Dr. Sherwood's office did refund the money for the root canal. I wanted to mention the positive aspects of my experience so this was as fair of an review has possible.

But anything outside of the semi-annual cleaning sends me into a fit of anxiety. I started coming to Frankenbery Johnson over ten years ago. My son and I both come to this clinic. My son is on the autism spectrum and has a hard time with new sensations or noises. Our dental hygienist, Lisa, is fantastic. She explains everything to him before she does it and allows him to feel each machine with his fingers while it's making a noise so that he knows what to expect. Dr. Rohr is probably the best dentist I've had in my entire life. She's patient with both me and my son and seems to remember personal details. At one point I had a reaction to the medication injected into my gums to numb me and she knew exactly what the problem was and talked me down. I never felt a thing after that. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking for a new dentist.

They've got a vast waiting room with water bottles and coffee free to you while you wait but my wait to be honest have never been long enough for me to actually enjoy those amenities. They didn't shame me for not going to the dentist in a few years and related to my concerns. Had a wonderful hygienist who was professional and relatable. Made my 2 hour appointment feel like 30 minutes. The layout of the office was open and relaxing for those who "fear" the dentist. I liked them so much I will be taking my daughter as well. They acclimate young children by inviting them to visit, walk around, listen to the sounds, and get comfortable before they do any work on them. Dr. Pauly and crew were fantastic.
