My husband and I chose Bruce Berg to take our children s photos which just happened to be during the annual children s photo contest. When I spoke with him on the phone to book our appointments for our children he was very misleading about prices and was in a hurry to book the appointment. We didn't care about the photo contest, we were just wanting quality photos of our children. He didn't allow us to change our children's clothes during the session and he didn't take a family photo of all of us either! When it came time to order he was not present in the ordering room. He had a elderly lady show us a slide show that went way too fast and didn't have all of our original photos included, some of them were photo shopped with special effects that we didn't like and when we asked to see the original the lady said we didn't need to. We had to ask her about everything, she didn't give us any information on her own except when she handed us a pricing sheet. She didn't sell us anything, she just sat there and stared at us while we tried to figure out how their ordering worked. We spent $600 and barely have anything to show for it. We were told about these "most popular" accordion books that were three for $200. We were not shown them in the ordering room and we apparently had to pay an additional $100 to have a photo on the front cover so we declined. When we got them they were so tiny you could barely see the photos, these are definitely not books! It seems as though Bruce doesn't treat his children's photo contest customers the same as he would treat someone getting their senior photos or wedding photos taken. Do not book with him! They are very unprofessional and are way too expensive for what you get. Just because someone has their children photos taken during the contest does not mean that is the only reason they are having their photos taken! He rushed us and was just trying to make a quick buck and move on to the next appointment. The office is not child friendly so when we brought our two young children they were getting into everything and we couldn't pay attention to the photos. The photos were also shown on a projector screen which was very had to see the detail of the photos. You would think with all the money he makes he would have a nice big flat screen tv to view the photos on or actual hard copies! He definitely needs to hire more professional staff that knows what they are selling. We have a lot of family who live in California who wanted to purchase pictures of our children but Bruce only offers one photo viewing session for free, if we wanted to have our family come do another photo viewing we would be charged a fee! He doesn't provide photos online for people to order from. Very extremely disappointing and we wasted a lot of money just to have a few 5x7 photos and three crappy mini accordion books. We have four family weddings coming up this summer and we were planning on booking with him for all of them but now we definitely will not and never will again! read more

We had our infant daughters photo's taken by Bruce Burg during this years Children's Photo Contest as well. We had fun during the photo shoot and he was really friendly, however, we were really disappointed in the lack of packages for purchase. We did not want to pay almost $100 for one single print when he only spent 20 minutes with us! We also would have loved a family photo but it was never offered to us which is very uncommon of a good photographer. We were invited to have her photos taken through Facebook and it seemed like a great deal to only have to pay about $60 for a sitting fee so we went for it but in the end we didn't purchase ANY prints because there were no packages available. You cannot even buy a 4x6, he only sells 5x7 and higher or you can buy about 20 really tiny wallet prints but those are not frame-able. Most people frame a 4x6 so this was really strange. We were willing to pay anywhere from $300-$500 for all of the photos but purchasing each one individually is not realistic for most families. It seems as though he is only a "high end" photographer and he should advertise this by making his price list available when inviting people through Facebook for the photo contest. We were really disappointed and will not be back in the future. Only book through him if you are willing to pay thousands and thousands of dollars. (If I could chose zero stars I would). I have went to Bruce Berg Photography for years, sometimes giving him some challenges on the type of pictures I wanted and he has never failed me. They are unbelievable. They are not the cheapest...but I believe you get what you pay for and what I have always gotten is amazing pictures....pictures that I didn't think could be that good and that truly took my breathe away when I saw them. Bruce has been trained and has so much experience in photography he is truly a master at this art. You will not be sorry if you try Bruce, and years from now when you look back and your kids are grown up or your parents are gone and you can stop and look at beautiful pictures that give you beautiful memories for life.
