Drinks and music at the square
Beth Ann M.

Love this square. Always lots of options. Live music every night from 5-9. Drink huts have good drink specials and offer a variety of mixed drinks, beer and wine. If you don't like to drink, Dunkin is on one of the corners and there is an Ice Cream shop too (Scooples). The bands offer a lot of variety in the types of music played. There are plenty of restaurants around the square for a nice meal and a lot of seating to enjoy the entertainment. They have stadium seating and folding chairs you can put out yourself. You can also bring your own chairs, which a lot of people do and there are other benches, tables and chairs throughout. The square regularly has market nights, festivals, etc., and on Saturday Mornings, there is the farmer's market until 1 or 2pm. We enjoy driving up in our golf cart, grabbing a drink and listening to the music. Our favorite spot is between Tommy Bahama and the Rustic Rose, that breezeway has a few outdoor couches, tables and chairs. It's just the perfect distance from the stage to still enjoy the music, but you can hear each other talk. Just don't steal my spot! Parking is abundant. Just go behind the main buildings to large parking lots. If you come in a golf cart, it's even easier. Parking and entertainment are FREE to all - you don't have to live in the villages to enjoy the fun here.

The ONE and only food vendor at the Arts & Crafts Festival July 2024.

Arts & Crafts Festival July 2024 - only 1 food vendor. The way the Villages operates festivals is ridiculous. Any festival anywhere else has a plethora of options and supports their vendors. Once again, The Villages loves to provide less than events.

Performance stage with dancing area.

We love coming to this non smoking venue of nightly entertainment. It's located in The Villages, Florida. The nightly bands are different but geared to the older crowd. Music from the 70's on up. There are folding chairs and covered bleachers. Lots and lots room for dancing . Very common to see line dancers, couples, and solo dancers just doing their own thing. It's all good. Tonight, we are seeing Anita Drink three person band and lemme tell you, it's great. The mother/daughter team remind me of a mix of Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt. Their drummer does an very fine Johnny Cash bass vocal. We just might stay the whole three hours of free entertainment! Drinks are served on the corners of the square and the whole thing is surrounded by dining and shops.

This is a pretty cool area. It's a little more upscale and pricey than other Squares in The Villages. And therefor maybe not quite as fun, but still a very nice area to hang out. Mainly because of the free nightly live music. Definitely worth checking out.

Take me out the ball game and buy some peanuts and crackerjacks!! The Florida Ballpark otherwise…read moreknown as Condron Ballpark is a beautiful and excellent facility in the Gainesville community. This ballpark hosts the Florida Gators baseball team, and it opened about 2 years ago. This ballpark has an amazing 360 design view from the 3rd level which also serves as the floor for the press box and club seating. However on the 2nd level/concourse, that's where the main seating area is. There's more than enough seating and also there's berm seating for spectators who have the thrill to catch an out ball or even a homer! If you can get a chance to walk around, you'll be able to see the history of Gator baseball and the team's accolades. The concession stand has great food options ranging from the classic ballpark eats like hotdogs, peanuts, and popcorn to chicken caesar salad wraps, fried key lime cheesecake with a raspberry sauce, and a watermelon cooler. Also, the bathrooms are very clean which are amazing at a sporting event. My only issue is the parking, parking can be very tough especially if there's a tough competitor for the week/weekend, so I advise to get there early. I have been to several games this season, and I definitely enjoy the atmosphere and hanging out with the Gator fans.

We came for an SEC game against lsu and unfortunately didn't fair very well. Parking is available at multiple locations within a short walk even with softball happening around the same time. We had some great times at the old ballpark but understand that we gotta keep progress moving. The cover over the majority of the seats is a welcome change for those sweltering summer games.
