We're renovating our kitchen and a bathroom in a 50's ranch. We had torn down walls to the studs…read moreand had big holes in the ceiling from removed soffits. Cornerstone was the second Drywall company we contacted and their quote came in under the first bid, even though it included additional services such as painting the ceiling and didn't require any additional prep work on our part. The work was tedious as it required using drywall of different thickness and double layers in some areas to accommodate new cabinets and tie into existing plaster walls and ceilings. To eliminate the issue of matching ceiling texture, Mike proposed skim coating the ceilings of linked rooms so that the ceiling texture was uniform. The drywall/painting team that began work on our project had a couple issues that marred the result of their hard work. The team seemed focused on speed of work instead of quality, with the result of some details being missed. Examples would be ceiling LED placement, wrong drywall thickness in a key area, and dings in the ceiling. These issues were identified by Mike during inspection and he immediately took over the project himself. Mike corrected each issue, replacing existing drywall where necessary and making multiple visits to ensure the work was done properly. Thanks Mike.

Bob was a pleasure to work with from start to finish this time around as well as when his company power washed and painted our home the first time about 10 years ago. Our home project was completed in just three days (one day earlier than first anticipated) and Bob stopped by each day to check in with us as well as the crew foreman. At the completion of the project, they did a great job of cleaning up all around our home and left us any remaining paint. Bob let us know about the warranty as well as how we should let him know of any touch ups that might be needed in the upcoming weeks and they will do the fixes. He was very proactive in his communication and clearly explained everything to me every step of the way. My house had not been painted since we built it, and needless to say, David had his work cut out for him! He had to power wash everything, replace rotten wood, fill holes and gaps, remove rusted nails, and paint everything except the siding. This took many days to complete, and as I mentioned, the weather did not cooperate! But despite this, he didn't rush and made sure everything was done well. Throughout the process, he was on time, polite, cleaned up after himself, and was very hardworking. His price for all of this was very reasonable; he used top-grade paint supplies and his quote still came in considerably less than other companies in the area offering one lower grade of paint. Just as important: there were no surprises! His invoice was for the exact amount he quoted. I also received very positive feedback from my neighbors and handyman about their interactions with him. A section of the floor in the front guest bedroom, the adjacent closet floor, and guest bathroom…read morefloor squeaked. I thought I needed a support beam installed in the basement to provide additional support for the floor joists. So, I contacted Gary Simpson from Simpson Construction to see if he could install a floor support system. Gary came out and immediately noticed that installing a support beam wouldn't solve my problem. Apparently, the builder had moved a few of the floor joists after the subfloor was put down to make room for the toilet drain in the bathroom. This adjustment created the squeaking noise. The builder tried to fix the problem by installing several wooden cross braces to reinforce the now unsupported seams of the subfloor. You can see the cross beams the builder installed in the attached picture. Sadly, the builders shoddy workmanship did not fix the problem. Now I need to fight with the builder to resolve my problem. I sincerely appreciate Gary's expertise and honesty in exposing this situation. I give Simpson Construction a ten star review and highly recommend them to anyone. I will definitely hire Simpson Construction in the future to help with other projects. Gary is a great guy with an outstanding professional standard. We need more people like Gary in this country.
