On November 3, 2024, my wife was attending the Brown's Driving School in Mustang, OK. My wife was born with a cognitive impairment and needed help with parallel parking to pass the driving portion and get her driver's license. She has had a learners permit for years.
My wife called me and said that the tornado warnings were going off in Mustang and were instructed to call their rides and have them come pick them up. THEY HAVE NO STORM SHELTER!!!!!
I immediately left my home in rural Yukon. At State Highway 4 and Wilshire I myself was caught in a separate tornado and my car was lifted and the tornado placed my vehicle into a vacant field.
The instructor placed the students in front of plate glass windows to wait for their rides while the tornado sirens were still going off.
The owner of Brown's driving school called me two days later basically I think to complain that I wanted a refund. She was not going back. It was her second day.
I voiced my concerns and his response was "I'm not building a shelter for 42 students. I said don't you mean 42 souls.
This guy is all about money. He doesn't care two cents about your loved one. Do you hear me public? Spring is coming. If you are thinking about enrolling your loved one in this course reconsider. Keep them safe. No storm shelter at the Brown's driving school in Mustang, Oklahoma, y'all.
