I regularly come to Brown Sugar for breakfast as the food is always good, unfortunately after todays experience and the manner in which it was dealt with I don't think that I will be back!
I ordered my meal and asked for some extra to be added. The lady at the till politely explained that this would cost extra and joked about whether I could eat all that or not. I told her that I was happy to pay and that I would manage it no problem. We agreed on a said amount of extras (3) which I payed for in full along with leaving a tip. I took my seat & waited for my food. They service is always a little slow but I understand that the kitchen is small and because of this patience is required. My food arrived along with one of the 3 extra pieces payed for. I politely informed the waitress that I had payed for two other pieces and asked if I could also have these. She apologized and went back to the kitchen. 15 minutes later she returned with one more piece, handed it to me and said sorry about the wait. Once again I politely explained to her that I was very sorry but that there was still one piece missing. (This was not a complicated order to begin with I assure you) she hesitated so I provided her with a recap of the discussion had at the till and again explained that I had payed for 3 extra pieces. She apologized again and returned to the kitchen. She returned a few moments later and informed me that I had now gotten my 3 extra pieces plus another one and that if I wanted more I would have to pay for them. I'm quite slim, I don't know where she though I had hid all these extra pieces on top of my meal so quickly. At this point I was a little annoyed and clearly explained to her again what I had ordered, what I had received, what I was yet to receive and how many I had payed for! I understand that this was probably just an error in the kitchen and encouraged her to speak with the lady that I had initially payed. She told me that she would see what she could do and again returned to the kitchen. I found this a little odd as I could not see why there would be an issue with correcting a very minor mistake on their part. Some time then passed but the waitress was not returning. I could see her bring out fresh orders but not the remainder of mine. After about another 20 minutes she finally returned with a very worse for ware 5th piece, which quietly clearly had a circular bite taken out of it. She put it down on the table, said "there you go" and walked away. Now quite shocked, I looked at my food and thought to myself "this must have been taken from the left-overs of someone else's plate"! At this point I gave up and left. I didn't have the time or the heart to start an argument, I was just utterly disappointed. The waitress stuck in the middle was a pleasant girl, however somebody in the kitchen quite clearly has an attitude problem! read more
