I will start by saying my husband and I have received the green card, so that's great, and obviously on a basic level the job was done. Our frustration was that this office and the Cleveland office are very disorganized and unresponsive and it was a constant source of frustration trying to communicate with our lawyers in an extremely stressful, high stakes and once in a lifetime process. I think because so much of immigration law feels so formulaic, they treat it very casually and it comes off feeling flippant to a client who has never been through the process before. At this point, I regret hiring a lawyer for this process because I really feel they just stuck to filing forms and did not provide the service level I expected at all. Here are just some of the frustrations we had with the service of this office. 1. Our lawyer and legal assistants would routinely take 5+ days to respond to simple email questions. 2. In multiple different forms of communication they misspelled my husbands name and incorrectly listed his address. 3. The contract stated the amounts of each payment, however gave no due dates for any of the payments. We received an invoice for the final amount months before our case closed saying it was overdue. I had to show them that this was not accurate or agreed to within the contract, and we negotiated a payment date we were comfortable with, however loosey goosey contracts don't exactly inspire confidence in a LAWYER. 4. There was an administrative mix up in Cleveland causing them to think that final payment had not been received on the day of our interview, and the office called threatening not to send the lawyer 30 MINUTES BEFORE our interview appointment they were supposed to attend. The money at this point had already been withdrawn from our account. The mixup took long enough to resolve that our lawyer arrived to the USCIS office late. These are just a few examples and while nothing is egregious it all does seem extremely unprofessional. I would not hire lawyers from this office again. read more

My review is not based on lack of desired outcome but lack of knowledge, consistent follow through, and inability to provide options that other attorneys provided. I applied for a parole in place and after a year of waiting was denied. Not the Rishi fault, all paperwork was filled out correctly. Rishi suggested that I submit again but had no strategy of what we could do to shape a different outcome. After another year of waiting, it came back denied again. Rishi spoke to a contact he said he had within USCIS who told him that if we submitted again, nothing was promised but that they would keep an eye on the package. I hired another lawyer who immediately did a FOIA to gain the internal USCIS paperwork to find out why I was denied. With this information the attorney was able to shape the strategy that Rishi did not have. Additionally, I was put through a rigorous interview by the attorney who suggested additional avenues that could be pursued that Rishi never mentioned. When there was a package in process, I had the tracking number, so there was no need to talk to him. When it was time to talk to him, he would ignore e-mails, phone messages and I had to use their online appointment system which was the only way I could get him to respond. I terminated the relationship and am pursuing my goals with another attorney. If you have forms that you want filled out, his office is good at that. If it is a simple matter, I would recommend him. For something more complex, look elsewhere. read more

I have my green card now so i guess I can't complain too much but I'm seriously not sure why I paid them thousands of dollars. We had to fill out all of the forms ourselves, the parts they did fill out had mistakes (which we caught), and the day of the interview our lawyer (who had been changed - we had been working with Rishi the whole time and a few weeks before the interview we were assigned someone new) showed up *late* to the interview and was impossible to get a hold of. We had to start the interview without her, not knowing where she even was. When we called the office we were told they would contact her themselves, and I guess it makes sense they wouldn't want to hand out people's cell phone numbers but wtf??? By the time she showed up we had done pretty much the whole interview. It was ridiculous. It was already an incredibly stressful day and this just made it 100x worse. She was nice but she literally had one job and that was to show up on time. We still had to pay the full amount though because of course... It's nice that they offer a payment plan but they have no way to take your payment online and they require you to call during office hours. Every time I've ever called them, I get routed to their main office in Ohio or whatever and the lady there is almost always incredibly unpleasant when I request to speak with someone in Durham. That said, the office staff in Durham are always pleasant and nice and their office is pretty easy to get to. I went with this firm because one of my friends had a good experience with them but it seems like a gamble whether they're going to be worth it or not. read more
