Sweet little cafe tucked into a corner of Mayow Park, 10 minutes walking distance to Sydenham station in a residential area.
It's clearly a hangout for the families-with-young-kids cohort in this up-and-coming neighborhood. As a solo American tourist in the area for a couple of weeks, the two times I've been here, I felt like an intruder--not by staff but by patrons. Who are you and why are you alone, in our cafe?! Seriously, some people looked at me as though I'd crashed a party.
Food is very good, if pricey. Fresh and freshly made. I'd prefer the option of a small salad on the side rather than a piece or two of arugula/rocket though. read more
