I have always loved McDonald's Garden pop ups. Every Tuesday is senior Tuesday so they get 10% off. Their flowers and vegetables are always so green and healthy looking. Prices can be a little much but it's hard work keep in the babies alive I assume. They always have sales every week there's something different that's on sale. They have multiple locations throughout the Hampton Roads area and Virginia Beach and Norfolk and Williamsburg. I went to them last year the shop in Poquoson, and found out that they usually close mid July and that's where everything is marked to 50% off so I walked away with a beautiful hibiscus that came up this year so I had to return for more plants. The pop-up shops in parking lots are open March to mid July so plan accordingly. I've also been to the big store in Virginia Beach and it is overwhelming but in a good way I recommend hitting that shop up.

It's a beautiful shop that's got a great selection without being overwhelming. I'm a crazy plant lady - the inside of my house looks like a jungle. But I found soooo many plants I didn't yet have! Honestly, if it were spring and not fall, I would've purchased dozens of plants. Luckily for my wallet, it's getting colder and I try not to buy plants when they have to stay inside for so long. Anyway, the prices are amazing! I typically buy my plants online or from a really expensive local nursery so I felt spoiled by the great prices. I ended up exercising my self control and only taking 6 plants home. The shopkeeper was so sweet and friendly and always willing to look up care instructions for me, which was much appreciated. Since this shop was our first stop of the day, she also held my plants until I was done shopping so they didn't have to sit in the car and fry. She wrapped each plant so carefully and packaged them all up in pretty green bags! It was the sweetest touch!

It even has an awesome place to grab food and coffee. The festival though one thing rubbed me the wrong way and sadly made me not want to bring my business to andersons again. While at the festival, they had a bounce house for the kiddos- it was a big hit, only downfall was the slide area the kids were literally landing on hard asphalt on their behinds, when I brought it up to the young man he tried his hardest to resolve the problem, they brought little quilts, once again sadly it didn't help the problem. I watched three other kids land hard on their behinds, and the last one a little boy landed and knocked the wind out of himself. After that my friend and I went up to whom I'd assume was the event runner (young lady in blue) and she seemed worried and said she'd try to find something else, there was another gal next to her, when the young gentleman asked if he should close down the house (which he should have kids were getting hurt) she replied "no keep it up, we did all we could" and walked away. I'm appalled that she did not care whatsoever that children were getting hurt. Taking the house down would have not interrupted the event whatsoever but she thought jeopardizing children's well being was fine. Absolutely unprofessional.

When I spoke to the employee I asked specifically whether an arrangement can be made like a couple shown on their site. I told her I didn't want carnations; I wanted the autumn colors (orange, yellows) as pictured, sunflower if possible. I was assured they would make something close to the pictures. Except that it was a bouquet, what was delivered was nothing like any picture on the website. Carnations were included, no orange/dark yellow flowers, no sunflower. It looked more like a bouquet one could purchase for $25.00 at a grocery store, not for $75.00, which I paid. Appaerntly they aren't able to actually provide arrangements in containers/vases they show on their website.
