Brost Chiropractic & Wellness Centre in Calgary Alberta is not as great as it appears. When I went in to seek pain relief from a fused lower lumbar, Kolbi Brost initially refused to give me an adjustment on the first visit, and expected me to remain bed-ridden for another week. They ran a bunch of useless tests, and charged me a ridiculous assessment fee, and on the follow up appointment, Brost tweaked my neck without informing me of what she was about to do (without making sure I was properly at ease), and as a result, I now have possible tendon/nerve damage in my neck. Insult to injury, she then charged me for the neck adjustment when the second appointment was supposed to just be a follow-up for the initial assessment, and covered by the initial fee.
I have sought legal remediation, but the environment for medical malpractice cases, particularly against a chiropractor who makes you sign an informed consent form beforehand, is not welcoming to low income individuals. I now have a constant clicking in my neck, stiffness and pain when I move around too much, and occasionally I get a numbness / tingling on my back left shoulder. I was told by other doctors this should go away on its own, but its now been almost two years since the date of injury, and it has not gotten any better. Even with physiotherapy visits, which I can hardly afford.
I tried to leave a poor review on her website, in an attempt to make my situation known to the public. However, the website does not appear to accept low rating reviews. Whenever I try, I keep getting error messages and it appears she has created a bias review system on her website to misinform people of the quality of service.
I have made an official complaint to the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors, but I also wish to inform any public of her shady practices. I do not believe Kolbi Brost should be working as a health care professional, abusing the trust and misleading her patients. read more
