We visited this campsite recently as a stop off point on our way to the Hebrides…read more
We were pleased to be able to stop off here for the night, as it was a convenient location and has a very good range of facilities, so we were able to fully prepare the motor home before setting off for the ferry, and the 'wild camping' awaiting us.
There are electric hook ups for motor homes, fresh water points, chemical waste disposal point, and also a grey water disposal point.
There are large washrooms with a row of toilet cubicles and sinks with hot water, and 2 showers (free to campsite users). There is one of those old fashioned hair dryers - I think you may needed to have put 20p in it, but I'm not sure. The washrooms were unheated, so might get a bit parky in winter, but the shower I had was warm enough. The facilities were nice and clean and well maintained.
There are other facilities such as laundry and dish-washing sinks with hot water, but as we were only on a quick stop off here, we didn't use them, so I won't comment.
It's a lovely location, it's on a small peninsula just north of UIlapool, and although it was a grey day, we had a brief stroll around the site before we set off, and enjoyed the views across the sea.
