A huge store that has it's own climbing wall, cafe and bike shop…read more Stocks many of Tiso's rarer items, like expedition weight tents and inflatable kayaks. But very expensive to order in anything that they don't have on site. The two tills are not optimally placed being as they are tucked in around the main stairs. While the displays are well presented and neatly organised their layout divides the shop too much. Zoning of products is important, but here it reduces flow around the store. Bike shop is geared towards complete bikes and cycle clothing rather than spares, maintenance and upgrades. Has a well equipped and staffed workshop but lacks it's own till. Staff in both bike shop and main store are friendly and knowledgable, if sometimes a bit thin on the ground at times. Cafe is clean and nice with sandwiches made on site. Good bookshop with comfortable seating. Not a bad shop by any means but with such potential it feels like a few minor adjustments would make it superb.

Then helped us carry it out and gave instructions on how to attach rack and kayak. I also needed a wetsuit and booties and got the wetsuit for a good price. Had to buy pricey booties as the only ones in my size but they are great quality. Even the cafe inside Tiso has quality food and drink. When we returned the kayak a day late as my friend Patti Bauernfeind's Loch Ness swim ended later than expected, they told us not to worry about paying any additional cost. They were really supportive of Patti's successful swim. Thank you! IKeepSwimming.com

Camusdarach is campsite heaven. It really can't get any better than this…read more It's in between Mallaig and Arisaig, and is backed by beautiful sand dunes and beaches, with plenty of rocks to scramble over, and lovely views. On arrival, we couldn't have been given a warmer welcome by our very genial host, who greeted us like long-lost friends, and we were made to feel at home. We were given a map, which was actually very useful given the size of this spacious site. We then had a look round the facilities. Oh my - luxury, proper luxury! The washing and shower block is something else - decorated to a higher spec than a lot of hotels. It's all grey slate and fancy taps. The shower heads are the large rainforest ones (or whatever they're called), and the shower was a good temperature. The site has every facility that you might need - flat pitches for motor homes, chemical toilet disposal point, grey water disposal point, electric hook ups, laundry, recycling points, free wi-fi, and other facilities such as a shop and cafe. They will even re-freeze freezer blocks for you, or re-charge phones or batteries for you if you aren't on electric hook up. We also noticed that they had a 'glamping pod', and that they take a very environmental approach to their facilities, with eco-friendly and sustainability being a high priority. But the best thing was the chemical toilet disposal point. I'm being serious, it was fantastic. Now this is the part of motor-homing that no-one enjoys. But what they have done here is turned it into a quirky and fun feature. The disposal point is located in an old fashioned style outside toilet cabin. Inside, there is a gigantic stainless steel toilet pan (sparkling clean) for your waste, and they have continued the theme with a ceramic cistern and old fashioned pull chain. They have even kept their touch of luxury going with a slate tiled floor. In having the consideration and creativity to create this eccentric little feature, what they have managed to do is make the most hated job actually good fun. It's a touch of brilliance in what is already a very classy campsite.

Washer dryer not the best but kept all the swimming clothing clean and dry daily. Camp facilities very good and all contained within a smart purpose built building having a restaurant, function room, swimming pool and arcade. Access to beautiful beaches was a very short walk as was the local town of Nairn which has good quality shops and restaurants as well as a sainsbury on edge of the town. Fully recommend this park as a great base to explore this part of Scotland.

We booked a caravan via 'The Sun Readers Holidays' for 4 days at the beginning of July this year…read more It is just situated off the main road through Nairn. We arrived after 3pm and check in was very quick, we pre-paid for entertainment passes, which we didnt get the full benefit out of as we were always out doing touristy things!! So would probable not buy them in future unless we were staying on site most of the time. We also paid for a linen pack, but in future we will bring our own sleeping bags as think this is more economical and cleaner too. The duvets in the caravan weren't exactly immaculate. When we unpacked, we noticed that the caravan hadn't been mega cleaned, dirty glasses crumbs in drawers etc, so I cleaned it again. We both thought the caravan was ok and acceptable, however in comparison to another caravan holiday I was on later this year at a different site with a much nicer caravan at a cheaper price. This caravan was old and tired looking. There is a outdoor play area that my kids went to all the time and we took turns to supervise them, although there was plenty of young kids there who had to supervise themselves i.e no parent or guardian keeping an eye on them. We were able to walk into Nairn town centre in around 10 minutes, it is not large and some of the shops shut mid afternoon on a Saturday. We had already been to Inverness that day so werent too bothered. The big selling point for the site is that it is right next to one of the nicest beaches in the area. The kids had a ball on it especially in the rain.
