My brother-in-law recently passed away and my sister wanted to use Brookside because they had been so wonderful to work with when our stepdad passed away a few years ago. Last time we worked with Jamin and he took such good care of our mom and all the big and little details. This time we worked with Gary and Mike and they made sure everything went smoothly. They put my sister at ease and made sure everyone was welcome and as comfortable as possible. We recently had to deal with my dad's death and burial through this whole COVID thing. Jamin helped us through it every step of the way. He wasn't pushy, and actually helped us save on costs, as money is tight for my mom now. Jamin came to be like our security blanket - we always felt well taken care of and knew we were in good hands. Very disappointed.. I had to go through another loss within 4 months of a family member not only my father, but two my cousin and his wife it was very hard. During the wake service we had Sonia it was a relief to see her being a part of this service. She comforted my aunt and was always very attentive of everyone's needs. My family was very appreciative of her. It was very disappointing that she wasn't at the cemetery I think Chad was the one in charge and it was difficult to understand him he remind family in Spanish about the process and one of my cousins had to tell him to repeat what he had said in English. Which I don't think needs to be reminded he should've already known. He wasn't very compassionate and I felt that everything was being rushed. Very disappointed!!!!! read more

STRIKE 1: Daddy arrived at Brookside on Jan. 18th. On Monday, Jan. 20th I arrived for my appointment ahead of schedule by about 5 minutes. I was told that the person I was to meet would be with me shortly. After listening to him in another room on the phone for 20 minutes he finally came out. STRIKE 2: While answering the questions for their forms it was noted that I haven't had contact with my sibling for over 10 years, he lives in a different state, and didn't want anything more to do with our family. I showed him the Family Trust paperwork from 2010 where my sibling was no longer in the picture, the "power of attorney" and other pertinent information he might need. He made notes on the forms. I initialed and signed where I needed to. He said dad would be cremated by the end of the week or beginning of the next and that I would get a phone call when I could pick up daddy. He never mentioned that an attempt would be made to find my sibling. STRIKE 3: It has now been 12 days and no phone call. So I called and was told that he hadn't been cremated yet and would I like to talk to the director. I was upset and angry by this information and said, no and to just call me when daddy was ready to be picked up. About a minute later I get a phone call from the director and he states that daddy hasn't been cremated because they were attempting to locate my sibling. This was news to me. He back-pedaled and said something about an attorney. By then I was so mad that he straight out lied to me during our meeting. If there was a change, you think a professional director would have called me with new information. That didn't happen. STRIKE 4: They didn't even bother to use my dad's middle initial or his suffix in his name. Really! MORAL OF MY STORY: You can't trust in what you're told straight to your face, and you get what you pay for. read more

When we went through Brookside once for our loved one, but never again will we go back. My family was very unsatisfied with all of the services and their customer service was poor, especially for a company dealing with grieving families. They just cared about getting their money. read more

The experience that my family had with Brookside made the tragedy of losing my father in February a little more bearable. They asked personal questions about what kind of man my father was and what his personality was like and what we liked to do together. They spent time making sure we understood the process and made everything very simple and easy to understand. After the funeral service, our funeral director asked my little girl if she wanted to kiss grandpa and tuck him in. He held her up to the casket and showed her how to do it to make grandpa comfortable. We've buried several ones over the years, and the level of kindness, care, and compassion that was demonstrated at Brookside is unmatched. I highly recommend them. read more

Today we met with the Funeral Director Janet. She was so nice and made the process of doing this horrible situation nice, smooth and easy. She was straight forward and did not make it feel like a funeral home experience. I have to say the price was right too. I recommend this place to anyone going through this. read more
