However, that can make it a little trickier to get to, and bear in mind any taxi rides if you are tempted by the decent value green fees. I often use a course in Balham which is more easily accessible, but the quality of this course means i will probably be back again. I've only used the driving range, but if the number of people out on the proper course are anything to go by, it seems to be a very popular place for a round of golf. The driving range is split over two levels (always opt for the top one as long as it's not raining, it's much less enclosed) and faces out onto acres of greenery. There's no annoying netting here, there's over a 250 yard distance on which to try your best swing, so plenty of space for the novice and the pro. As I mentioned before, the facilities aren't the best. But there is a bar and well-stocked shop etc. It's £5 for 100 balls on the driving range. The best thing is that it's only a short drive from the big smoke and you really do feel like you're in the countryside, which, on a sunny day, is priceless.

The course is very nice course and is kept in good condition throughout the year. The people around the course are very friendly. Also there is a big room which hosts alot os different events I.e weddings, dance classes, which is handy if you are looking for that. Well, ok, you're hitting a ball at a screen so not walking too far, but at least you're standing up and moving your arms... However, it's not easy. I've not played golf much and this activity requires some level of technique above 'aim and hit'. For a start, you have real clubs so you have to know what the benefit of each number is. Secondly, if you're not very good like me, then your ball will either go into a lake, a sandpit or nothing at all and you will get more shots. This means the embarrassment lasts longer as you take more and more shots to achieve the same distance that your better playing friend hit in one. I also liked the central location as it's inside High Street Kensington Tube station. There's a full bar inside so you can drink while you play, hoping it might relax you into being a better player. Low marks come from the fact that it's more expensive than bowling (£50 per simulator per hour at weekends). For that price, I'd rather bowl as you can get away with throwing hard and a bit of luck, whereas Urban Golf is more technical.
