You can take your drinks on the course (and get refills!) which is fun - but it also means that drink glasses are all over if the staff is behind in picking them up. The biggest negatives are feeling herded through the course quickly and very loud drunk people. But overall it's worth the visit!

Although I don't work in the city, if I did I'd be popping in here on a regular basis to ensure my swing wasn't too rusty come the spring. Well, ok, you're hitting a ball at a screen so not walking too far, but at least you're standing up and moving your arms... However, it's not easy. I've not played golf much and this activity requires some level of technique above 'aim and hit'. For a start, you have real clubs so you have to know what the benefit of each number is. Secondly, if you're not very good like me, then your ball will either go into a lake, a sandpit or nothing at all and you will get more shots. This means the embarrassment lasts longer as you take more and more shots to achieve the same distance that your better playing friend hit in one. I also liked the central location as it's inside High Street Kensington Tube station. There's a full bar inside so you can drink while you play, hoping it might relax you into being a better player. Low marks come from the fact that it's more expensive than bowling (£50 per simulator per hour at weekends). For that price, I'd rather bowl as you can get away with throwing hard and a bit of luck, whereas Urban Golf is more technical.

A flat park, with lush green fields, perfect for ball games, flying model airplanes, picnics in summer etc There is a large lake with many ducks who just love to be fed your scraps of bread! Great for the kids There are several intersecting paths for leisurely afternoon strolls, a football club, tennis club, and even a clubhouse cafe for a lazy afternoon of tea and cake. The thing I like about this park is that it isn't really big enough to get lost in, and you can see where you are (for bearings) at all times, because it's flat, unlike Wimbledon Common. Just make sure you don't go off track and end up on the adjoining golf course! There is no way out once you find yourself in and the golf club members don't take too kindly to 'Sunday walkers' getting in!
