Nice big air conditioned space with plenty of room in the waiting area so you don't feel too…read moreconfined, and there enough room to wag your tail if you're an optimistic pooch. Doctors Turner and Carr get my vote because the see themselves as pet Doctors, and that shows they are concerned with the health of the animal you call your own... or you call yourself the owner of. There are all sorts of treats you can purchase here from soft toys to pet health insurance, and there's parking on site which is always a very good thing if you are transporting sick animals or taking groggy ones home after having the variety of things one has when one is a domesticated pet. The weekends are often busy, and the closing hours are a little flexible, so while there's a later start on both Saturday and Sunday, and it may be that the day is extended a little, you're always best to actually call ahead and make an appointment, or check there is someone there if it is an after hours emergency.

We could not be more disappointed with vet Dr Carr and the practise at #petdoctorwoodville…read more My mum's cat Xena is 17 years old and was born at home with my mum by her side, she is my mum's baby. Sadly, Xena has been suffering for the past week she suddenly went off her food a week ago, is now in excruciating pain, has been throwing up bile so my mum made the tough decision last Friday to have her euthanised at home. Mum thought she would try her local vet Dr Carr at petdoctorwoodville and she spoke to her a girl on the phone who reassured us (promised us in fact!) that a vet would be here between 12-3pm, and that they would call 30 minutes prior to him arriving. My mum asked the girl again, can you please confirm no matter what happens someone will be here, she said yes. 2pm comes around and my mum asked me to call the vet to see what time it was looking like they were going to come around. It was then that we were told that 'I'm sorry but our vets are too busy now and we won't be coming around'. My mum has spent the last few days preparing for this moment she has to put her baby to sleep and to be told so coldly that the vet won't be coming now is just very disappointing. The lady put my mum on the phone to Dr Carr the owner of the practise and his comment was just bring her in, we'll put her down' and im sorry I've got more important things to do'. My mum begged Dr Carr to come out and after much convincing he said ok fine we'll come out but it will be an after hours call out fee (which mean't he was going to charge us a fortune for their stuff up) We could not believe what we were hearing, we never knew a vet could be so heartless and clearly not understanding of how emotional this time is for us and not to mention the suffering Xena our cat was experiencing. After being let down so badly today we are very grateful for people like vet Marie De Lint who has offered to help us out at the last minute to ensure our poor Xena is put to rest in a comfortable manner and in her own home. Marie specialises in this service and it is clear that she has a beautiful heart and is very compassionate about animals. Thanks for coming to the rescue #letmego4pets #lostdogsofadelaide
