Ask the Community - Brooklyn Editions

I have original prints and watercolors I would to turn into prints. Is there a high quality scanner at this location? Artwork is about 8x12" to 18x27"

Yes I scan artwork. For the larger sizes-such as the 18"x27" I often recommend other options. Depending on the final print size there are different methods that can be more cost effective or more expensive ones that offer the best museum quality… Read more

The ones form online were alright, but the ones that Stephen printed bordered on fine art - just spectacular.

The THNK1994 Museum - .... Well that sucks when you come way out of your way and they're closed with a paper sign up. I'm so disappointed.

Could there really be a space focused on such a specific event, and how do you even get enough pieces to make it a complete museum? However, my curiosity made me want to check out THNK1994, and I was really glad I did. My sister and I went with my nephew, and I will admit that this place may seem lame if you didn't grow up knowing about this 1994 Olympic scandal. We tried to make our excitement contagious, but he could not be bothered. However, we enjoyed seeing the tabloid covers, memorabilia, and artwork inspired by the Harding/Kerrigan kerfuffle. There was one floor each dedicated to both skaters, and it was fun talking to the owners about the inspiration behind the museum. The museum also has rotating exhibits: when I was there, they had a Real Housewives-inspired show. It's a kitschy, campy place that is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a unique experience!

So I can't speak on the coffee here.* But I do a lot of work out of coffee shops, and I have to say that Clover's might be my favorite. The space is beautiful, clean and inviting. The service is almost TOO nice, and my chai latte was completely delicious. I wish the seating was a bit more conducive to work; the tables hold my laptop and not much more, but they have plugs at nearly every seat, and a ledge on the right that can hold more than a few people. Also, the classical music being pumped in is so much more relaxing, not to mention more conducive to work, than the punk, metal, indie whatever that you usually encounter at coffee shops. I think I am going to spend a lot of time here. _________ *Except to say that my companion raved about his Clover coffee, so if that's what you are interested in, I think they've got you covered.

Art gallery meets café, serving up contemporary classical music and Intelligentsia Clover coffee?…read more Yes, please! Any joint that's willing to drop the multiple thousands of dollars for a Clover machine is a joint that I immediately presume to take their coffee seriously. That they use Intelligentsia roaster's products just solidifies that stance. There's something so -utterly- hipster and nose-upturning about sipping on a deliciously-brewed cuppa while cranking away on my Macbook, facing an exposed brick wall, sitting under an undoubtedly pricey cloth papier-mâché sculpture. I even got asked to step outside while making a phone call by another patron... which I was more than happy to do. Seriously. People talk to each other here, even if it's just to call each other out. Quality. Yes, folks. This is Brooklyn. And I have arrived.
