Food always tastes great. Specials are a good price. We have never purchased anything that we were disappointed with.

I work right up the road from here. We would order take out quite often and many times, we would eat in. Sometimes I would pick up and take home. Today, I was hungry for wings, so we drove down to eat. We decided on doing take out since there seemed to be too many flies inside. I ordered mild wings extra crispy. My wife ordered the same and also ordered a cheese steak to take home for her son. I grabbed two root beers and my wife got an iced tea out of the cooler. We sat down and as usual, the one lady was wiping off all the tables. She always does this when I see her in there working. The girl at the counter went into the employee bathroom and we saw the toilet blow up on her. While she was cleaning that up, I saw the young man in the kitchen put an order on the wire rack. It is a habit of mine to look at the time when somebody puts an order out. The young lady finished cleaning the bathroom. I was hoping she wasn't going to touch any of the food. She went back in the kitchen and appeared to be screwing off. In the mean time, the kitchen put out two more orders on to the wire rack. The phone rang, so she came around to answer the phone and actually do her job. She took somebody's order and then another man walked in. He was there to pick up his order. She checked him out. The other people sitting in the dining room ordered a pizza. The pizza was done when the toilet blew up. She finally took the pizza out to that table that was sitting on the counter for about 15 minutes. The young lady then checked the one bag on the rack and went over and looked at the register. She then said to us "I only charged you for one order of wings, I need to charge you for the second order." My wife went up to pay and she then grabbed the bag off the rack to hand to my wife. My wife paid for the second order and then asked "do you still have to make the second order" and the young lady said "yes, I am sorry." I looked at my watch and that food was sitting on the wire rack for over 20 minutes. I said to her "That was sitting there for over 20 minutes and now you are asking us to wait for another 20 minutes for the second order to come out?" She put up her arms to indicate "Oh Well." I said "NO, we are not doing this." I told her to give us back our money, we do not want it. By the time we would get out of there, the one order of wings and the order of cheese steak would be over 40 minutes old and by the time we got home to eat it, it would be over an hour old. She had to get help to back out the two separate charges on the debit card minus the two cans of root bear and one container of iced tea. I told the young lady that I will never be back EVER because of the "WHATEVER" attitude. As I was walking outside, the older lady was sitting outside taking a break. I told her that we would never be back and quickly told her what happened. I also stated the young lady inside needs to be fired. I strong do believe she needs to be fired. I do have to say a good thing happened out of this. Since this happened, we went to "2nd Avenue on Tap" near Courtesy Ford. It was the first time we were there. I had the wings and my wife had steak. We also ordered a cheese steak to go. Our son said that was the best cheese steak he ever had and he is from Philly. He said he finally found a place in Altoona that has a better cheese steak than he can find in Philly. While we were at "2nd Avenue on Tap" I check our bank account. Not only are they incompetent at "Brooklyn Deli", they rip you off. Both refunded amounts did not match the amount they originally charged us. They refunded a lesser amount. So, they ripped us off too. Stay FAR away from Brooklyn Deli. Others at work always wanted to go somewhere else when we ordered for lunch. I always talked them into Brooklyn Deli. Not anymore. We will order from Cobrah's, Primanti, 2nd Avenue on Tap or somewhere else. Never again at Brooklyn Deli. They are way overpriced anyhow. Again, go somewhere else. read more

We order pizza from Brooklyn Deli several times a month and we always look forward to it. While we haven't tried much from the menu, their pepperoni & buffalo chicken pizzas are delicious. Definitely some of the best pizza in the area. read more

We used to love this place, but the order accuracy has really gone downhill in the past year or two. There is always something missing. This time there were no black olives on the grilled chicken salad. It's listed on the menu, so why would I need to request them? And their website pricing is wrong! $9.50 for the salad, but when my co-worker picked it up along with a new menu, they are now $12.65. If you can't keep your prices updated on your website, then take them off completely! read more

Consistently delicious. I've ordered pizza, salad, wings, Stromboli's and calzones. Every time it is hot, fresh and delicious. Order accuracy has been 100% . I have seen reviews about the Slice app. I have also used that, and while I don't love the app, I do love the Brooklyn deli so I deal with that part. I only have one suggestion and that would be adding a dry rub to the menu. Those are my favorite. :) read more

Great food but a poor way to run a business. I ordered three times via the Slice App. First time it was great no issues. The second time when I went to pick up the food, they informed me they forgot to place the order. Long wait time with no discount or free garlic knots, etc. Third time when I went to pick up food, they told me the person who makes the pizza was not in and coming to make the food. I went to go get some drinks. I came back when my Slice App said food was ready. It was not ready and I was told the guy just got there to make the food. If you have no one to make the food due to any circumstance, don't take orders or close. After my rating in Slice, they customer support said Brooklyn Deli apologizes but won't give any partial refund or discount. I like the food but not worth the poor customer service. I don't feel they valued me as a patron. read more

My husband and I stopped in last Saturday for a quick lunch while we were out shopping for the day. I had high hopes for this place given its name and the look of the place. Unfortunately, it was simply your run of the mill sandwich shop. My husband got the reuben sandwich and I got the Italian hoagie and we shared a plate of boardwalk fries with a side of cheese. The sandwiches were tasty, but nothing special. The bread was not homemade which I thought it might be if the place was trying to be an authentic NY style deli. Our french fries were good, but not fresh cut, another disappointment. All in all, the food was decent and the service was friendly, but there was nothing special about it. In a pinch, it's a good place for a quick bite to eat, but certainly not very authentic NY style deli food. read more

Our favorite pizza delivery. I love a light puffy dough and this pizza never disappoints. The kids chicken and fries is a huge portion and cheap! The fries remind me of boardwalk fresh cut. I often get the grilled chicken salad. Only disappointment is they do not have green olives. Delivery will usually take an hour so be prepared to time your order appropriately. read more

Let me begin by saying I take word of mouth referrals very seriously! I have no agenda in giving my honest, unbiased reviews other than to share my thoughts from my experiences....hopefully passionate restaurateurs will use this information for good of mankind :-) Now to the review....1st props to the name Brooklyn Deli...I have many friends from NY, and have been fortunate to partake at many "deli's". SO naming this BD, really sets the bar high. My mouth was watering as entered. Really cool color scheme and menu us written on chalk board. I was now even more excited. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the visit, other than the bottle of Dasani being chilled to perfection, the food and service was sub par. Cheesesteak: old store bought sub roll...that actually feels and taste like cardboard when you bite into it...cheese wiz was a good attempt that would make Geno's happy, but the steak, peppers, onion it all had no taste and was very bland. Fries: no crunch, soggy ...If better oil ( due for a change over 5000 miles!) Or cooked at proper temp might have some potential. But, until then they will continue to over salt them for a reason. Pizza: got a slice from the house pie, the pepperoni and cheese are low quality. Grease ran down my hand when I took a bite as it was under cooked and the dough did not set. The sauce was decent, so there is some potential. I really wanted to like this place, but the quality of ingredients and conduct observed in the kitchen need improved or at least change the name to "Dollar Deli". read more

Called in an order for pizza and garlic knots, they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We showed up and waited 30 minutes when they werent busy only had 2 other customers in the restaurant. Usually i dont mind waiting BUT the fact i waited longer and recieved cold food is rediculous!! We pulled out and i grabbed a garlic knot and it was so cold, no way they were fresh.. its not like i waited the drive home either to try one, i grabbed one while my husband pulled out. When i called to inform them the guys just said "ummm.. okay" and that was it! Will not be wasting my money here again especially when they dont care about messing up or giving a customer cold food. read more

I agree with the other reviewers. I'm from NYC and I didn't taste any authentic NY subs. I ordered the pastrami and it wasn't made like how I had them when I was younger. Thick cuts of meat, deli mustard and a side of kosher pickle. That's how it's made. read more

This was my second visit to The Brooklyn Deli and I was hoping it was as good as my first visit. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Budda Bing and the Veggie Budda Bing an now I'm stuck again between my favorite. An added perk is that the pizzas are one of the best car air fresheners around. My car smelled like fresh pizza for three days after my first visit. I didn't want to open any windows to lose it. MMMmmmm!!! read more

Middle of the road sandwich shop. On my visit I had the Philly Cheese Steak, although made proper with Cheeze Whiz I found this sandwich to be really lacking in Meat. If this sandwich had been filled up properly I think I would have enjoyed it more. Very nice lunch. Chili made with Real ingredients, homemade roll, ample salad, fish sandwich served on a croissant with lettuce and tomato.

The pizza and strawberry fields chicken salad are my favorites; also highly recommend the onion petals and garlic knots. They give large portions and restaurant is very clean. read more

There are few times that I have been this disappointed in a meal and the service that I received. I got a chicken cheese steak for eat in. They wrapped it in foil so that must of the cheese was on the foil. The taste was bland and completely disappointing. There are so many better options that there is no reason to eat here read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Won't be going back. Of the 3 things we ordered 2 were prepared wrong. The girl who took our order rang us up wrong and the condiments we asked for to go with our food didn't come out with it. i think your all misgiuded, i have been there numerous times and thats why i go back. the sandwiches are great and the rolls are excellent. the Hawaiian Hamburgers are my fav. i do believe they could improve on serving times. it is a sandwiche place, but thats why you stopped in the first place. high expectations " will " fall short. read more
