Great place to go if you want to just unplug and clear you head for a bit. Great for jogging, walking, or fishing. Best part is, you might get lucky and run into Mr.Robert Kraft.

I never saw the reservoir before the trees were cut down, but I find it absolutely charming--a wonderful, urban oasis. The mile-long circular path is perfect for a walk on a hot summer morning or evening; during the rest of the year, I imagine it would be lovely at least during the daytime, as well.

What a gem along Route 9, accessible to Brookliners and Newtonites alike. The path around the Res is gravel and you'll see many fishermen, joggers, families, and doggies. Parking is always ample which is great. Though there are some grassier areas, I wouldn't trust camping out there as there as many geese hanging around, including geese poo. There are plenty of benches along the path as well if you need a breather or want to relax in the shade with a book. With a 1.5 mile stretch, the Res is a beautiful place for a stroll and mini oasis away from the city. Not to mention our church did a service project there and cleared a section of vines, weeds, and trees and every time I go by, I look on fondly at the cleaned up corner of the Res. Goodbye, invasive species.

Beautiful, peaceful and clean little park and pond. Just the right size to jog or simply to relax. Me and my kids had the chance once to fish. My kids loved it. If you are in the area this a nice place to burn calories or to chill.

It's clean, lovely view, great place to relax, run or jog. There are a few benches to sit and I've witnessed people fishing as well.

Absolutely gorgeous in the spring time. Not much for kids to do in the area.

I think I even prefer this to Chestnut Hill Reservoir - it feels a little more peaceful and scenic to me with trees all around.

Whether…read moreI'm having the best or worst day ever, a loop or two around always leaves me so grounded and at peace. It is well kept (maybe besides in icy conditions in the winter), full of great people-watching, and just as beautiful when you walk it for the 300th time as it was the first. It is about a 1.5 mile loop for those interested in tracking their mileage. For those who don't live in the area, it is a short walk from the closest T-stop and it really worth the trip. In the warmer seasons, expect to see some wildlife (lots of birds & turtles). When colder, expect gorgeous icy views. Tip: If you like taking a stroll with a coffee in hand, grab a coffee at Starbucks or Eagles Deli nearby before you loop!

I've been coming here since middle school and it still remains as one of my absolute favorite places. Look at these pictures! It's so well-kept there's never any trash. There is one small stretch of geese droppings but the path is so wide you can easily maneuver your way around them. :) It's located right in between Boston College's campus and Cleveland Circle so there's always some action and people around (but is never too overwhelmingly crowded). A happy medium of crowded and empty for sure. At one point you're overlooking Cassidy Playground that usually has something going on-- be it softball games or grass volleyball games for example. It definitely gives you some entertainment to look at while you walk! The views are everything. It's a 1.55 mile loop and there's benches along the way that people use for all kinds of reasons (to read a book, take a phone call, chat with a friend, stretch, soak up the sun and look out at the water, etc.). I love coming here around sunset and seeing the sky change and light up on the whole reservoir. Magical. Hands down one of my favorite places to be!

It's a great spot to lay out in the sun, read, and listen to music, in the sun or the shade - just a nice park and great place to spend some time on a nice day at any age. There are always kids playing here: water gun fights, wiffle ball, you name it. There a small water fountain to run through to cool off and a water fountain for drinking out of. If you want to bring food or relax in the shade, there's a picnic table as well as several benches. For a little more exercise (at any age), there's also a playground - a few swings, a slide, etc. - a small basketball court, and a tennis court.

I live mere blocks away, but for whatever reason, never park-ed it up until today. I decided it was way too early in my recovery process to start complaining and feeling sorry for myself, so I grabbed the blanket I stole from the hospital, a good book, and headed out. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, two men were playing tennis, and several small children were running around the playground. I claimed a spot of land as my own, and read until a man driving the biggest lawnmower I've ever seen came to mow the grass. I wasn't in the mood for another hospital visit to treat the injuries I might have sustained had I continued to lie on the grass unnoticed, so I packed up and headed home. After all, my bank account can only handle so many hospital co-payments.
