But first, it's common knowledge the finding a daycare spot in the GTA is akin to the Holy Grail. My kid was on the waitlist for 7 daycares in our area. SEVEN. But I was persistent and secured a spot at an EduKids facility - St Thomas' Child Care Centre. I thanked all the deities for our luck. A week before my son was to start full-time daycare, we had our transition period. It's a "get to know each other" opportunity. It was helpful for me as I got to know the facility and the teachers and caregivers. My son transitioned well. The teachers/caregivers (Donna, Sandra, and Carmen) were everything I could hope for. They were loving, attentive, caring, and communicative. My son really flourished there. The other staff were also just as wonderful. Caroline, the Director, was friendly and helpful. Nathan was a teacher for school aged kids but yet my 14 month old son bonded with him. We got daily reports of his eating, his diaper changes, his activities, and his naps. But what was really important to me is that my son was happy when I picked him up. Unfortunately we had to leave this wonderful place because the daycare across the street from our neighbourhood had a spot for my son. But we would return to St Thomas in a heartbeat if the new daycare doesn't work out. We're thankful to St Thomas' Child Care Centre and EduKids for making our first daycare experience a wonderful and loving experience. They raised the bar so high.

She even took the time to chat with us to help relieve our worries. We go to her for advice and there is lots of open communication between us. We truly feel like partners in our children's development. Our children absolutely love going to daycare each day! Sometimes they don't want to leave. They get lots of individual attention, delicious and healthy meals (we joke that they eat better at daycare than at home) and lots of time to explore indoors and outdoors. She really prepares them through educational learning, routines and hands on play. Alexandria even arranges to take the kids on offsite excursions such as farms, library, parks and play places. We are incredibly grateful for the love, patience, and dedication shown every day, and we wholeheartedly recommend this home daycare to any family looking for a nurturing, trustworthy place for their child.

His instructions to his staff including the supervisor are the same. Our concerns fell on deaf ears (e.g. starving child, diaper rashes, lack of presentations and follow-through by teachers, non-compliance with legislation and lack of a support plan) starting first week of enrollment soon after deposit and fees were paid. After multiple emails regarding concerns, a suggestion was made that the contract would be terminated if number of phone calls/emails did not reduce. There was no resolution to the concerns. We took him up on his suggestion and had to withdraw our child for safety reasons. He kept our deposit. A complaint was made to the Ministry and he was found to be non-compliant in some areas. However, there was no consequence other than a warning to him. So beware when you enroll your kids at this Montessori as we as parents have limited recourse! When I told the Director that I could share my experience with others online, he said "you can say whatever you want. We know what to say to parents when they walk in here." And he does have a very convincing marketing team comprised of all his staff leading to this confidence!
