I have been taking my puppy to Brookfield since I got him - about 9 months. My initial visit was awful. When the appointment was over, they told me they were taking him to the back to trim his nails and to get him used to the back in case it was ever needed. They said they do this every appointment. 20 minutes after he had been taken back, I asked what the hold up was and they let me know it's their unofficial policy to let every single staff member pet puppies. "It's the puppy tax" they said. They have never taken him into the back or trimmed his nails again. Not cute or amusing when you need to get back to your job. They send out confusing and incorrect emails about flea/parasite medications needing to be updated. I also took my puppy in as he was having some diarrhea. They took a $250 fecal sample, told me it was positive and charged me another $200+ for medication to cure it. A week or so later - I get an email letting me know Oopsie!! He was negative and their system was telling them he was positive to a test he had taken from his first apt ever there (which we were told was negative!) The cherry on top was receiving a quote for his neutering for $2,000 weeks after i had booked the appointment. Save your money and find literally any other vet. read more

In this time of Covid, it can be challenging to start new relationships, especially for our pet's medical needs. Our boy is a Senior (9.5 yr and a Big Dog); he's was showing signs of slowing down, having mobility issues and weight loss. My gut knew it was not going to be good news. Thankfully, we were ale to get into to Brookfield and saw Dr. Wright. Dr. Wright was thorough with her exam, discovered something suspicious in his abdomen area, did additional diagnostic tests which sadly confirmed bad news. What struck me was her compassion, professionalism, her genuine concern for both mine and my dog's well being while speaking with me about the exam results, her recommendations and our boy's prognosis. read more

I am really sorry to have to update my review in such a negative way. I was a client for a number of years, starting with the previous owners, who sold the practice a few years ago. I loved them and the whole staff here and received excellent care for my pets and fosters. I met most of the vets and they were all very good. During Covid, vet offices had to make a lot of changes that made business difficult for them - I totally get it and understand that. I was disappointed, though, that when I acquired a new dog in 2021, they were unable to see him for booster vaccinations for three months - meaning that he would have to have an entire new course of vaccinations, as he would have been outside of the timeframe for his boosters. Added to this, the folks at the desk didn't really have any helpful suggestions for how to handle the situation - I was left to figure it out for myself. It's not really a good way to handle a longstanding client, but I gave the benefit of the doubt because of Covid. And I figured it out myself (I took our new dog to the Petco vaccination clinic). Some months go by, and our dog is suddenly sick - swollen lymph nodes and excessive water intake. I called Brookfield to get him in and was told, again, that since he's "a new patient" all they can do is fit him in six weeks from now. There was no concern for his wellbeing and the fact that it was clearly fairly urgent that he see a vet ASAP. I pointed out that I have three cats that they already see, and for whom they would have an appointment for, but since the dog was "a new patient", that was irrelevant. So, I got a recommendation from a friend, and called another vet clinic - who, in spite of never having seen my dog, understood the urgency and tried to fit him in to their schedule. They weren't able to get him in that day, but urged me to take him to urgent care as his symptoms were very concerning, and they scheduled a followup with him a few days later. The dog is doing fine, fortunately, and I decided to transfer to the new clinic. When I inquired at the new clinic if it would be an issue to see all my various pets - given they, too, are limited in how many they can see - I was told, "YOU are the client, so any new pets you get are automatically our client." Which is kind of how I thought it should be at Brookfield - but apparently isn't. I was sorry to leave, as I truly did like the vets and staff at Brookfield, but it has changed, and not for the better. read more

This place is unreal. Initial appointment- they requirement my wife to not sit inside despite we have a 2 year old toddler. Follow up appointment- we showed up 10 minutes early for the appointment; they wouldn't let us sign in or check the dogs in. We then returned literally a minute late; they rejected the dogs because they had an emergency. They made us reschedule. Today, they took the dogs, and demanded a missed appointment fee for the prior week. Unreal! On top of that, these people are absurdly overpriced. I previously had my dogs on a health plan at another vet. It was $500 each which included cleanings. With these people, it was 500 each for just an exam and then the shots added another $80. They also tried to upset my wife on having cardiologists do all sorts of scans. These people have clearly gotten used to ripping people off. Terrible business practices. Not a way to take advantage of dog owners in this community. read more

But this place, that we've been loyal to for the past 10 years (read also many thousands of dollars), has sadly lost the focus on the customer experience. Lack of assistance, compassion, and inappropriate sarcastic comments from the receptionists is truly appalling. I understand that pandemic has left a toll on staffing quality but Brookfield has the reputation to preserve, and clients to retain. I also understand my experience might differ from yours, and that's a good thing, but I find this necessary to share in hopes of improvement. I would advise anyone who cares about your pet to avoid this business. They were great several years ago but when they got sold to a big business and got rid of several of their services, they started to go downhill. Now if you want a simple senior check up, they won't tell you what they check for, and when pressed, was told that it was a physical and blood work ( but not what they are checking for in the blood). When I requested just the blood work and not the physical, I was refused because I was "not following thier proper procedure". Then I started to get questioned about vaccine status. Which he did not need and I did not ask about. This place has gone from a caring staff who use to care about the animal and listened to the owner to one that doesn't care what the owner wants and pushes unnecessary services to increase the cost. It pains me to have to leave a review since we have been with them for years. We really liked our vets but there are high turnover so don't get attached to any one of them. The most frustrating thing for me recently is the front desk. I have called three times in the past week about prescription call to Costco and promised twice with calls to confirm and one to text. And got lies about left a message when there is not. I think they need to reflect on the customer service part to ensure people are coming back. My partner and I will never take our cats anywhere other than Brookfield going forward. One of our cats has had health issues from the time she was a little kitten. She had a head injury at 6 months old that turned into an extremely traumatizing experience. During this we learned that she had been born with a diaphragmatic hernia; the vets told us she wouldn't be able to be spayed without seeing a specialist and that it would be a complicated procedure. Fast forward to six years later... we brought our girl into Brookfield for urinary concerns. Dr.Pierce was amazing, compassionate and empathetic to our previous experiences. She provided me with lots of information and answered every single one of my questions (I had a lot!). She then recommended Dr.Adrian who has performed thousands of spay surgery's and felt that this was our girls best chance at getting the spay surgery she needed. Dr. Adrian called me and walked me through everything, she scheduled the surgery on a day that Dr. Pierce could be involved and took multiple measures to ensure that even with all my girls issues... she would be taken care of! On the day of her surgery Dr. Adrian met me at the door with even more reassurance. Speaking with the actual surgeon on the day of made me feel much more comfortable especially during COVID where most interactions are through phone calls or From the front desk, vet techs and all of the doctors I felt respected, listened to, compassion and complete love for my pet. They treated us like family and always kept us in the loop with every concern and question. I think that's all you can ever ask for in veterinary care. I am so thankful that we can call them our primary vet going forward. read more

Like a precious reviewer noted, something really changed in this place. Perhaps because all the doctors that used to be here are no longer here. They are now definitely business first, pets next. I used to bring my cats here many years ago but moved away from Redmond. I still found my way back because the old doctors gave me the impression that they were the best. So I brought in my cat for dental work. During the lab work for her dental work, they discovered that she had end stage kidney disease and not fit for anesthesia. So instead of calling me and telling me about it, they sent an email to an email account they had on file (my family member's). The email wasn't seen for weeks until I call to confirm the time for the dental work weeks later! Then I asked to talk to the doctor about the condition and was told "you can email her with questions". Seriously?! I finally managed to talk to the doctor on the phone who was nice and very patient (thus still 2 stars for this review). But she didn't tell me for certain whether I should give my cat subq fluids. She didn't offer a prescription for food until I asked and she said I could try a few cans. A few cans of food were purchased (4 cans of the brand I told them I don't like and 2 cans of a brand I never purchased before) and I asked them for the prescription after noting that my cat likes one of them and already finished the 2 cans of the brand she likes. So I emailed for a prescription, and was told when spoken on the phone that it would take 72 hours to give me the prescription. I am wondering why? 40 hours and counting I'm still waiting for the prescription while my cat refuses to eat the brand that they sold 4 cans of. Tomorrow's Christmas, and my 72 hour window falls in there). I am about to beg them for the prescription ... I could drive to their office and get a few cans to hold her over, but I was sick and hoping to get it from somewhere closer to home. But at this point, I feel like it's on principle to not get it from them :( So I don't know how good the "new" doctors are, but I know they longer have the compassion as the old team of doctors who would always always follow up on the phone. read more

Brookfield is such a fantastic veterinary center. I've been taking my 2 dogs here the last 3 or 4 years for routine checkups and for the occasional emergency visit. I moved 45 minutes away and still drive them here. The care I got from Dr. Pierce and her assistant yesterday was just amazing. These people are so good at their jobs and they enjoy what they do and it really shows. I got to hear about different treatment options and pros and cons to each. Pricing is comparable to other clinics but the care is far superior. The amount of time they gave me and my dog was remarkable. I'm very thankful. read more

My dog was unnecessarily sent to a specialist which cost me a lot of money and time. After several years of taking my dogs here, my experience has been that there is a lot of turnover at this hospital and it is unfortunate that you cannot get to see your preferred veterinarian. Its not my practice to leave negative reviews but I felt it necessary to share this with others so your dog doesn't have to go through unnecessary treatment. However, I have two fur babies I bring Brookfield to ensure they are well and on top of their vaccines. I believe some people forget owning Animals cost money. **Update 9/23/13** I thought it time to write an update about this vet. I'm still a HUGE fan, and I still think this is the best vet around, bar none. But there HAVE been some big changes in this practice since I wrote my last review..... This practice has moved to a new location, on E.Lake Samm, right behind Les Schwab Tires (in fact, they share the same parking lot on the north side). The new building is gorgeous and quite "luxe", with a lodge-y, wood-panelling sort of way. There are high ceilings, a spacious waiting room, coffee and water machines (complimentary), flat-screen wall-mounted tv, two separate seating areas.... It's quite lovely. (I just wish they had installed under-the-counter hooks at the front counter/desk, so as to hook one's pet leash while scheduling appointments or paying one's bill. Little detail, I know. But still...!). This building is enormous compared to the last site. There is an outdoor patio area, a small private seating room for private consults and the like, a roomy boarding area (I saw the facilities at my last visit, when I was given a tour by Dr. Rachel Robinson. Boy, was I impressed!). Some of the vets bring their own dogs here during the workday to have them nearby; this is how nice the facilities are. I saw the operating rooms, the dental care rooms, the post-surgical "recovery" area (where my dog was), the separate cat areas, the pharmaceutical and storage areas.... What an amazing facility. Sooooo clean and well-laid out. I really liked how the vet offered to show me the place. It speaks volumes that they are so open about showing their customers the "back offices" and "doctor's" spaces. The practice itself has expanded. Along with a larger edifice, there are now more vets and assistants. Recently, my dog was suddenly listless and lethargic one day and I brought her here. Dr. Rachel diagnosed her right away with a condition that is often called, in the vet journals, "The Great Pretender" because its signs and symptoms are shared by so many conditions and diseases. This particular condition usually isn't diagnosed for months or even years, and usually after a gazillion different diseases are ruled out. Dr. Rachel diagnosed her that first day. For that, I'm eternally grateful. And now, about a week later, my dog is back to her eccentric self. I am also grateful that, knowing how my family is on such a tight budget, Dr. Rachel provided me with info how to save money on meds (even referred me to an online pet med company which offered meds at a discount - less than the vet here sells them for), and offered to teach us how to give our dog injections (which she will need for life), thereby saving us more money. How many vets would do that? I can't say enough good things about this place. They're top-notch and they care. read more

I'd like to thank the Brookfield Vet Hospital team for taking care of my Hanako for the majority of her doggy life. The customer service from the front desk, nurses and doctors is amazing! They always greeted you with a smile and always immediately baby talked to your pup. Hana wasn't the biggest fan of going to the vet and would usually run away. Everyone was super patient with her and even ensured that she felt comfortable before they did anything. Throughout Hana's time at Brookfield, we've been through senior exams, teeth extractions, seizure consultations and more - the doctors have always spend a great amount of time explaining everything and giving me the different options I have in regards to surgeries/medications/etc. This veterinary hospital is slightly higher than others, but it's worth it and I don't regret spending a bit more on Hana's health. Unfortunately, Hana passed recently, so we won't be back until the next time I'm ready for another pup. But I highly recommend any puppy/kitty parents to check out Brookfield! We had to say goodbye to our beloved Vizsla yesterday. Dr. Cathy and the team there made it the most peaceful experience possible for our sweet boy. They had a nice room with a couch (instead of a scary-looking exam room) and they had some doggie ice cream for us to feed him while they gave him medicine. Throughout, they were very helpful about what to expect and overwhelmingly kind. I feel so grateful that we took him to Brookfield and that his passing was so peaceful. We've had excellent care from the vets and staff at Brookfield- our rescue pup has had some complex medical stuff over the years (including cancer - things requiring coordination with specialist and emergency vets) and we have built up a lot of trust with the staff here. We've been treated with kindness, respect, and patience as we navigated our budget and the needs of our dog. We've primarily worked with Dr. Pierce, who is gentle with our pup and transparent with us so we understand exactly what's going on and our options. I can confidently say that our pup has lived longer with a very high quality of life thanks to the guidance and support we've had from Brookfield. read more

These people LOVE animals. They place the dog's well being above all. Kind doctors and a very pleasant atmosphere.

There is nothing good I can remotely come up with for this place. They overcharge and under deliver and appear to care more for money than actually caring for their furry clientele. They don't let you in the lobby while they examine your dog and force you to wait outside despite the lifting of the mandate. I know that it is a medical facility so the mandate still applies, but some animals are not comfortable with other people and have tried to run away when their owner is not around. The staff who work here are rude and they will even charge you a missed appointment fee when they cancel your appointment. I do not recommend this place. If you care about your pet, take them elsewhere! read more

I really love this vet! I adopted a very old cat from the Humane Society three years ago. No one was sure of his age. Dr. Marie Robinson took great care of him, and consulted with another vet (her husband!) to sort of narrow down the range for us. He was already in kidney failure and pretty frail, and they were always very gentle with him. Even though he was a passive kitty and didn't resist when they drew blood, they were still very sympathetic and worried about not hurting him. I called them ahead of time and got prices very easily because I didn't want to be surprised when I showed up. Over time, Peetie (my kitty) needed more care/specialized services and they worked with me to prioritize the tests/treatments he needed so that they were in affordable chunks. Along the way, Dr. Marie called me the next day after every visit to let me know about his bloodwork, treatments, etc. and to make sure I understood them. Even her husband called once as a consult, so I felt like they really cared since they were consulting with one another to make sure his treatment was the best! In July of 2012, Peetie had to be put to sleep :( It was very sudden and unexpected for me (he started to decline in health very rapidly) . The staff was amazing and Dr. Marie was not only professional but very caring. She tried her best to get Peetie back on his feet, but it was his time. She offered to work around her schedule so that I could come in as soon as I needed/wanted with Peetie and so that he wouldn't have to suffer needlessly through a few more days. We came in a few hours later and they had a room dimmed with ambient lighting to make things a little more peaceful. As tacky as it may sound, it's necessary to have to pay for this, but, they let us pay as soon as we walked in so that aftewards, we could leave right away without having to deal with it. After Peetie passed, which was very peacefully and quickly, they let us stay in the room as long as we wanted. We were later given a little plaster block with his paw prints, housed in a little book with a poem. very sweet :) I think the vets here are excellent, the staff is really friendly and there is a house cat that lives in the office :) I'm not sure what the cost is relative to other vets since this is the first one i've been to in Redmond. However, based on my past experiences it seems very average/fair. read more

Update: We moved home from California last October, and hadn't really had much need to take Bridgette to the vet (we thought) until February when she became ill. She quit eating her food, and her diabetes seemed to be getting out of control. Dr. Marie was very helpful with us by answering emails and phone calls, and helping us with adjusting Bridgette's insulin doses. We eventually learned that Bridgette's (a 13.5 year old Jack Russell Terrier) liver and kidneys were failing. She also had pancreatitis and wasn't keeping her food down.... and she couldn't really walk up the stairs at home anymore. :( We knew that it was probably time to let her go, because seeing her in pain was heartbreaking. We took her to Brookfield to say goodbye, and Dr. Robinson and Erin were so caring and sweet to Bridgette. We were able to give her treats and hold her while we said goodbye. Though it's probably the worst thing you have to go through with your beloved companion, the caring staff at Brookfield helped us through it in the best possible way. When we are ready for our next baby doggie, we will definitely return to Brookfield. read more

I agree with a lot of the previous positive reviews but one thing that bothers me is the feeling of "pressure" to purchase some service for my puppy. I don't mind a suggestion or some advice but I feel like certain things like microchipping or procedures that were told to be unnecessary earlier but helpful are pushed on us like we have money growing somewhere in our nonexistent backyard tree. I've owned two dogs in the past, took good care of both, one living til 18 and the other healthy at 9, and both never lost ever, so I don't need a vet to push services on me that I feel I don't need. I never had this from my previous vet back in RI. The rest of the staff, as well as the place itself, are great - warm and caring. read more

Best vet ever. Tried quite a few places in the past 4 years, and Brookfield is consistently good. The nurses, the doctors, the receptionists, are all super friendly and good with animals. They explain charges (for my cats' teeth cleaning) and quote you a high and low of the potential charges. I don't know what else to say except the doctors (I had Dr. Laura) are SUPER good with your pets. Like, better with my cats than I am with them. She seemed to like them better, too. I thinks she kissed my cat on the top of his head when I wasn't paying attention. Kinda funny and endearing. Highly recommended! read more

I have been to this office three times now (for a check-up, vaccinations, teeth cleaning, etc.), and every time I go there my cat and I are treated so nicely. The staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and most importantly, wonderful with animals. I always feel they're treating the animals there with respect and I never have to worry whether or not my cat is being taken care of properly. I completely trust them. My cat gets sick from the car ride usually just before we arrive, and every time the staff has kindly helped clean Snickers and her carrier. I really appreciate that. The exam rooms have consistently been clean, and the office doesn't smell at all, unlike some other places I've seen. The doctors are gentle with animals, and Snickers, who is normally shy and scared, automatically relaxes in their arms. When I've had questions, someone is more than willing to explain things so I fully understand what's being done. This clinic also gives you pricing ahead of time so you know what to expect after all is said and done. The prices aren't bad - fair for what's being done and the location of the office. I've always had very good luck scheduling an appointment the day of if needed, which is huge in my book. I recently had an emergency and it was not a problem to be seen hours later. After a visit at Broofield, I always receive a call within a reasonable time after our visit to check on Snickers' progress. All in all, this is where it's at! I have to change vets due to moving and I dread looking for another veterinarian because I really love this place, and highly recommend them to anyone in need of a safe, trustworthy place for your animals. read more

I have been back to Brookfield several times now, and they have seen both my pets. Dr. Russell is a gem and a lifesaver! I cannot express how thankful my entire family is to have found her. As a worried/ nervous-wreck/ extremely picky- dog parent I will never take my dogs anywhere else. Brookfield is it, for as long as they'll have us :-) The care here is compassionate (for the people and the pets) and extremely thorough. They will spend as much time with you and your pet as you need. No question goes without a detailed answer, and ALL of your options are presented sans the pressure/guilt other hospitals tend to dish out. Oh and their follow up is extraordinary. They call immediately with test results, and also to check on how your pet is doing. Bonus: Neither of my dogs have been traumatized by their experiences at Brookfield, (which has happened to them at previous vets). This includes x-rays, shots, and blood work. That speaks volumes to how well they treat your pet when you're not standing over their shoulders. I am 100% satisfied with all of my experiences at Brookfield. Kudos to the entire staff for being friendly, professional, patient and helpful. You have saved my family a lot of grief over sick doggies! I had a very bad experience last year with my 9-year-old dog Buster's previous vet. I vowed at that time that I would never take him back there, so obviously I needed to find a new clinic. I spent some time researching on line and Brookfield Vet kept coming up with stellar reviews. I decided to give them a try when it was time for his regular check up. After I made an appointment online, they called to ask about Buster's medical history in advance of the appointment. He has had a lot of health issues with a lot of procedures, so he has lots of medical records in various locations. I related all the places we have taken him previously, and when we went to our appointment on Friday, they were very well prepared. They had copies of everything and knew all about his ailments, when he had his last shots, etc...in other words, I didn't have to spend a lot of time explaining his whole history again. Everyone was super nice and made both Buster and me feel comfortable. I felt the cost for his first visit was very reasonable too. And even though it was just a check up, they called the next day just to see how he was doing. I'm so glad we are now with Brookfield! read more

Ok, the emotional me wants to give this place a 1 or 2 star review, but the rational me is prevailing tonight. Not entirely fair to go so low since I have not actually used this vet. This is a review on their customer service (or lack of). I contacted them over a month ago for a quote for a pre-pay spay that the rescue required for our new puppy. I was told that I would be called back, but never was. That was fine, maybe they were busy. I found someone who could, so problem solved. After getting my puppy I still needed a vet so I called about prices again. Was told I would get a call back, never did. NONE of the other vets I contacted did this to me. All 4 others gave me quotes immediately. But the reviews are so great, I tried again for the sake of my lovely puppy because I want a top-notch vet, this time via their website. Again, NO response. I should say that I'm being polite in all of this and very very patient. Sigh. Is it because I'm asking about prices? As a college student (or anyone really) I need to manage my expenses and be prepared to pay what I owe. Does this mean I won't pay a premium for premium service? Absolutely not, my dog's health and happiness is first and foremost, but I need to make sure I have the money saved and ready to go. Sorry for being so responsible. Anyhow, I don't like how I was treated and just wanted to share my experiences. Summary: I felt like a parent trying to get my kid into a hoity-toity stuck up preschool and wasn't even given a response because I left my top hat and cane at my too-small and too-poor house. Another sigh. EDIT: While I still think my experiences are share worthy, I'm bumping the review from 3 to 4 stars because the owner personally reached out to me and seems like he genuinely cares. PROS - Generally knowledgable staff, they respected that I did not want to neuter my dog and did not push it. They also respected the way I wanted to do my vaccines and which vaccines I wanted to get. - Very clean. - They let me stop by for fake checkups so the dog isn't afraid of the vet. - They're familiar with large breed dogs and don't act afraid like my old vet did. - If you have pet insurance they'll send the claim in for you. CONS - Recently had a new male vet do my examine who my 11-week-old puppy did not like. When he was being too direct and not patient enough with my puppy, the puppy started squirming and growling. The vet then proceeded to say I wasn't training him well enough. My dog has NEVER squirmed at the vet ONCE until this guy came in. My puppy is still a baby, he needs to be handled with patience and he can't be rushed. - They have a love affair for doing fecal exams even when I think it's unnecessary. - The same vet guy I had a bad experience with was clearly afraid of German Shepherds. Delayed in updating this review. The Robinson's sold the practice to a national chain within the past year. Maintaining the 5 star review as the clinic still has a great staff, with some expected turnover along with addition of some new online features (online appointment requests/reminders/confirmation, pet pharmacy and other items). Unfortunately, with both Dr's Debbie and Marie leaving there are no doctors currently at the clinic who incorporate Eastern medicine into their treatment plans/suggestions. We used to bring our older dog in for acupuncture every 8 weeks or so to treat his mild hip dysplasia in order to keep ahead of it as he ages. There is a Naturopathic veterinarian in Redmond who provides these services, but after a couple of visits to their office with another of our dogs, we don't get the good vibe. The bright side is my awesome chiropractor will adjust the older dog which certainly helps maintain joint health. We hope in the not to distant future, Brookfield will once again have a Doctor who will have Eastern medicine in their background. read more

We took our 11 week old Golden Retriever puppy here for his first exam, hoping to find a vet that we love and trust immediately. I can say that we definitely have here at Brookfield. The vet assistants were SO nice and you can tell that they really love animals. One of the assistants gave our pup a chew treat to entertain him while she did an exam. When the vet came in, he was just the nicest guy with great information for us. They explained pet insurance and suggested a company that they like and trust. They made sure that all of our questions about puppyhood were answered and made sure that we were comfortable and knew exactly what we could and couldn't do with our dog until his final set of shots. It was a great experience and I feel like the exam was very thorough. I love that they are open on Saturdays as well. Great place and I'd certainly suggest making an apt. here if you are looking for a great vet. read more

I am a potential new client. Called the office because I had a special concern about my dog and wanted to ask a few questions. Was told that one of the office managers needed to address it and they would call in a few days. Never called back. Business must be too good at this practice. But their lack of concern about my pet I find worrisome. No plans to take either of my pets here. read more

My Fiancee and I feel like we have tried countless Vets in the Puget Sound and East Side Area. Our 15 yr old chubby, gassy, expensive Beagle has been a true lover of frequenting different vets and confusing them with his symptoms. Dr. Howard and his wife Dr. Howard offered their assistance recently and we both were literally blown away with the his results. I was open to what they had to say regarding what he needed and was also open to acupuncture (with ice cream). The results with him were immediate and lasting, he isn't perfect but what animals in that age range are, he is getting older. We were impressed with the amenities, customer service and actual caring from the staff. We will continue getting acupuncture for Oscar and will also start taking our German Shepherd Django there for now on. They also accept Care Credit which is very nice if you have a pricey pooch with health problems! read more

My wife and I adopted two cats from PAWS in 1999, were referred to Brookfield and have been going ever since. Unfortunately one of the two cats (RIP G-Funk) was ill and never made it past a few months old. The staff did all they could to help him, but ultimately we had to make the hard decision and they were very sensitive to our loss. In the ensuing years we have taken the other cat here for his routine checkups and have been very pleased. Everyone is super nice and we never feel pressure to purchase extra services. Our cat has a sensitive stomach so we get the IVD cat foods that they sell, which are the only food we have found that does not make him spit up all the time. Recently the cat was diagnosed as a diabetic so we have been back several times for checkups. The staff has been patient answering our questions and showing us how to give him insulin injections. These folks are great, really understanding and obviously care about the animals they take care of. You are paying Redmond prices, but it's not as bad here as at some other local vets, and the care and attention they give the animal makes it well worth it. I was impressed that they took the time to call the day after our visit to see how the cat was doing today. I've tried several places in Redmond (avoid VCA!), and this is the one I'm sticking with. read more

Leaving my first ever negative Yelp review because my experience should be known. On 6/09, we took our Boxer in for his annual & mentioned that he had what we thought was a scab on his elbow that kept bleeding. The recommendation upon the completion of his visit was to put Vaseline on the "scab." A month later, we called back to say Vaseline was not working & the "scab" was still bleeding. We were then told to put liquid bandage on it. The "scab" continued to bleed. We brought him back into the office on 8/11. We were then told it was a tumor & needed to be removed. He had surgery the next day on 8/12. I was notified via EMAIL on 8/19 that the biopsy results from the surgery came back as Hemangiosarcoma but that the margins were clear & the bloodwork showed no spread. Never received a phone call from anyone at Brookfield. Quite a thing to get news like that via email where I cannot speak to a vet & ask questions about a serious diagnosis. I replied with my questions especially regarding the nature of the diagnosis as our dog is not outside that often & certainly never left outside for any length of time. Never got a response from anyone. On 10/06 - less than 60 days post-op, we discovered what appears to be another tumor. We emailed in a picture of our concern & got no response so we followed up on 10/07 & finally got a call back. Brought him in on the morning of 10/08 & we were told we could do surgery again less than 60 days post-surgery #1. When we questioned Dr. Wright on the treatment since June especially regarding the recommendation of VASELINE on a tumor, she was completely dismissive saying "well it was only a centimeter" & said she stood by it noting that "Boxers are extremely prone to cancer." Besides the fact that this would have been a lot easier to deal with in surgery had it only been 1cm (we were told post-op that it was "much more extensive than anticipated"), no idea what the size has to do with it as a tumor is a tumor. Further, by the assertion that "Boxers are extremely prone to cancer" alone, the advice should have been to do a biopsy back in early June. If not, then certainly in July when we said the "scab" was still bleeding. Instead, the cancer festered inside our dog's body for an additional 60+ days. To top it off, upon learning we had had a Boxer that passed away from a completely different diagnosis previously, Dr. Wright had the audacity to say "well it seems like you should stop getting Boxers." How unempathetic. How unprofessional. How incredibly lacking in common decency. Prior to writing this review, we sent Brookfield a detailed timeline on 10/11 with our serious concerns & asked "Is this the standard of care at Brookfield?" Although, an admin responded via email the following day that they would get back with us, we did not hear from the medical director until 10/16 which certainly continued to exhibit Brookfield's level of attentiveness & care since June. In the phone call with the medical director, I was told that Brookfield continued to stand by their treatment of Vaseline on a tumor & a lack of a sense of urgency when I called again to say the "scab"/tumor was still bleeding in July despite what we know now that it was a tumor all along. Brookfield failed to take any responsibility for the poor care our Boxer who is "extremely prone to cancer" received when presenting with a tumor that went unnecessarily undiagnosed for 60+ days. Would have been wonderful to have had such insight in June: "While this is likely a scab as you thought, we could do a biopsy to give you peace of mind & that actually might not be a bad idea given that **Boxers are extremely prone to cancer**." We never received proper care. We never received an apology for how the matter transpired. Never an apology for the dismissiveness and unprofessional behavior we experienced. And curiously now, never received a referral to a veterinary oncologist. Our dog's new tumor is currently bleeding & my companion is dying because Brookfield chose to not be proactive or even suggest that option. One star is too generous. read more
