But after several different facilities, we were lucky to land at Autumn Leaves. From the start, AL has been more interested in solutions rather than problems. Each new challenge in dealing with my mother's dementia is met by the staff in a caring and responsible fashion. We are very happy, and frankly blessed, to have found this facility. Pricing is competitive, but the staff attitude makes this a steal in terms of results. My mother is happy and is treated with the level of respect we'd expect to give her ourselves. Overall, we couldn't be happier with this facility. Highly recommended.

Mother has Parkinson's and father has Dementia. The staff are caring and tend to both mom and in their own unique way by providing very different levels of comfort to each. The staff is genuine and caring and truly provides a "home" to each resident. They engage the residents in daily organized events and reach out to everyone individually. Each resident has different needs and the staff not only recognizes this and comforts each in their own way but they also have fun doing it and this shows! Thank you everyone at Autumn Leaves for taking such great care of mom and dad!

We visited a few senior living facilities but Westbrook stood out because it has an upbeat decor and vibe, and not a gloomy atmosphere like the other places we checked out. The Westbrook staff has helped tremendously with my mom's progression from assisted living to memory care. It has obviously been difficult to see my mom decline from Alzheimer's and aphasia but knowing that my mom is extremely well taken care of has given my family some peace. My mom is always dressed and clean. My mom is comfortable. Her room is always clean. There are daily activities in MC. It is not just leave the residents to watch tv all day. The amazing staff is always interacting with the residents. There are many staff members who have worked at Westbrook for years. I think that says a lot about how Westbrook is managed and the culture. Throughout this journey the staff has become like family to us. We trust their care with my mom. I highly recommend Westbrook and my family feels blessed for their care.

Having compassion for each resident combined with our intimate setting, we strive to create a home like atmosphere. We treat each individual as if they were family, promoting personal friendships while maintaining a sense of independence, dignity, and respect. The Vines Senior Homes takes pride in the care for their residents providing them with a comfortable facility with a welcoming touch. We thrive on making a connection with our residents and their loved ones so that their experiences are gratifying and never overwhelming. Our staff knows each of our residents by name. They know them on a personal level not just by their room number. This is a huge benefit of being a smaller facility. I looked at a lot of places before choosing this Assisted Living for my biological father and his…read morewife. I have read so many terrible things about how the elderly are treated in these kinds of places and thus I was really worried, especially when I left them there and moved home to California. During the pandemic, and even up until today, Alexian Village has a very high level of staff turnover at all levels, which usually indicates a management issue. However, I don't know the real cause. But as my "parents" have now been there for months, I've noticed that most of the people who serve them seem to be decent people who really care about the elders in their facility. Especially Helen at the front desk, who is a remarkable, wonderful person they are so lucky to have! (Beware of the other front desk woman, though. She seems to hate everyone and everything!) I've also learned that the dire situations my parents report are often not so accurate when I actually investigate what's happening. I am learning to give Alexian Village much more of the benefit of a doubt in these situations. They are, after all, doing a job I was no longer capable of doing myself. The ideal of course in an AL is that your relative is supremely happy, relieved and delighted. That's not likely to happen, no matter how angelic your loved ones are or are not. (That's a new realization for me!) Moving into an AL means that the party is coming to an end, and that's got to be hard for any elder to accept. Now that I have less concern about mistreatment, lack of food, lack of services, mean staff, stolen items, stolen clothing, unavailable healthcare and all the other things mine have complained about, I see that a lot of the drama is really just their unhappiness to be in AL in the first place. I believe Alexian Village is doing the best they can under the difficult circumstances made more difficult by the pandemic. It's irrational to expect this to be easy on your elders or yourself. It just won't be. Breathe. PS - There's one very bad review here, with one star. It talks about how often they change her mom's diaper. I think that poster is messed up, because Alexian V. is an assisted living, not a nursing home. Only nursing homes provide that level of nursing care. She may have posted in the wrong place?

After spending many months researching Supportive Living facilities in the Suburban Chicago area…read morefor our Mom we came upon Alexian Village of Elk Grove. We needed to move her from a place that we weren't very pleased with. With that in mind, we knew what we were looking for. From the first meeting we were very pleased with the atmosphere, the courteous, understanding staff and the very efficiently run community. They were very caring, concerned and sympathetic to the needs of our Mom. We knew right then that this was the place for her. Everyone there made the transition a smooth, painless experience for both Mom and us. This can be such a stressful and emotional time. We want to personally thank Gus, Maria, Kelsey and Helen for being so kind, understanding and professional guiding us through the process. While Mom is still adjusting to her new environment, we are so very pleased with the level of care and understanding she is receiving from the staff. We couldn't be more pleased with seeing her adjusting well and getting acclimated. Visiting has now become a very pleasurable experience.
