Inside the small dog park

Pros: -large divided sections for both the large and small dogs -most dogs are well behaved and most owners are friendly (there're always a couple of nasty or over-protective ones but what can you do) -really popular gathering place so your pooch will bound to make some new friends Cons: -ground is dirt and not wood chips so your dog is definitely going to need a bath after playing here -not enough seating for the size of the park -seating for owners are only around the perimeter of the park so it makes it hard to see what's going on in the other areas of the park if your dog wanders off

This dog park is great!!! Lots of friendly owners who really care about keeping the dog pen clean and safe. I love seeing opal getting a chance to play with dogs her size. There's obstacles and a fountain with tons of bowls. There is also a side for smaller dogs so everyone is happy!!

My dog was attacked last week by a dog that frequents the park. It is a large Dogo Argentino (argentinian mastiff) it is white, very muscular and UNNEUTERED. The breed was made for large game hunting and isn't good with other animals. It attacked my 70lb dog withing seconds of shutting the gate. The owner us unapologetic and lied on the police report to try to get out of paying my dogs $1500+ medical Bill's. Do not let your dog around his or you might find yourself in my situation.

My Presley bear loves coming here!! He has a set of friends who always come and he always has a good time. From the moment I get him out of the car, he knows exactly where we are going. They always have water, it's nice and shaded. I highly recommend going there, but only if your dog is properly behaved. The only time it gets bad, is when someone brings a dog in who isn't trained.

Very fun spot. Big area for the dogs to run around. Had some obstacles for the puppies to play on. Very picture friendly!! All the dogs there were very nice. We will definitely be back!

Excellent dog park for big and small dogs. Everyone is very friendly, and the park is well kept.

Ask the Community - Brookdale Dog Park

Is this gated well? I have a Siberian Husky who is very friendly but she is quite the escape artist sometimes. I wanna give her the opportunity to play with dogs her size, but I don't want her running off.

She will be ok. It’s double gated and the right side is for larger dogs

Morris Central Park Dog Park - Solid chestnuts that fall from the trees in small dog area!!

Great dog park! With a few things that could be upgraded. I…read moredrive 20 minutes to come here as a treat for my dogs, as it's the largest dog park I know of and has some great off-leash allowed walking space as well. There is basically 4 different areas in this park - a small dog area, 2 large dog areas and a short wooded path that you can walk on with your dog. Sometimes I've been here where they close half the larger dog area, I'm not sure why this is. In the parking lot, there is a port-a-john for us humans, and trash can/doggie bags for the pups. Everyone seems to be really responsible here with their dog which is a major benefit. Some cons: - can be muddy after rain - no trash cans or bags provided inside the park area, only before you enter the park - sometimes they close half the park (I don't know why this is?) - limited seating/benches for humans

I must say this is my favorite dog park I have ever been to. I have two little dogs, and take them…read morehere often to roam in the small dog area. Typically always pleasant experiences with the people and other dogs. As long as people follow the rules that is... However, I have to include an important warning for those in the small dog section about the trees above that drop these fairly large rock-solid chestnuts at unexpected periods of time at lightning speeds!! One of these suckers hit my 10 pound shitzu in the back pretty hard and she was yelping in pain/fear! :(

The dogs are usually friendly, and it's nice that the water is turned on promptly, in time for the warmer days. There's a small and large dog partition, although we enjoy the large side better. I especially love the obstacles laid out for the dogs to enjoy: It shows effort was put into constructing this dog park. Parking is usually no problem and there are a few benches to sit down inside the park.

Not my favorite dog park, but it's the closest one to where I live in Jersey City Heights. In terms…read moreof amenities, there's a nice water fountain in the park for the dogs, and a few benches for humans to sit on. The ground is mostly loose rocks and dirt - no grass unfortunately - so there's potential for dirty dogs when it's a bit wet around the water fountain. This dog park is in the medium size, with a decent amount of space for the dogs to run around. However, it's important to note that the dog park itself is split in two for large dogs and small dogs, however the small-dog dog park is almost never used, so the large-dog dog park has become a mixed dog park. This is fine for me since I have a medium-sized dog, but it's something I'd think people should be aware of, seeing large dogs running around and playing with small dogs. This is just something to consider if you have a smaller dog or even a senior/geriatric dog. It's not the best dog park in my opinion, but it's the best we've got in the area.
