I talked with a nice lady around 5:45 today. Wish I had caught her name. She went over a few watches with me and let me see a few. From out of town, and it was a nice breath of fresh air to be treated with so much respect no matter appearance. (Shorts and. T shirt ) Didn't realize they were closing soon and she didn't mention it once, explained how a Rolex purchase would be carried out, showed me a few, gave me some cool history lessons and a couple books to read. So this is a top of the line jewelry store. They've been in business in Birmingham for a very, very long time. They've got everything from fine silverware, to luxury gifts that would make your mom shed a tear. Engraving, fancy kitchen items for serving fine meals at home, a tremendous array of the finest jewelry that one could possibly want. Earrings for an anniversary? The ever important engagement ring? A selfish indulgence in the form of a fine watch? They've got it all. There really isn't a need to stop any place else. If you're looking for a broad selection of fine goods, top tier customer service, kind, polite and well informed employees....you'll find all that here. For me, what makes them an important stop are those rare times where a watch needs service. They don't ship your watch out of state, they don't keep it for weeks, and they don't charge exorbitant prices for simple services. If you've got a watch that you paid a lot for, then you should only take it to an authorized dealer when it's time for a battery or a cleaning. I choose Brombergs because since I was a teenager buying earrings for my high school girlfriends, they've always been kind and treated me like a valued customer, even though I wasn't a millionaire or spending a great deal of money. Also because they can get a watch serviced quickly, locally, and are prompt in keeping you updated about any progress. It's just an all around great experience every time I've even done any business with them. You don't survive as a business for 100 years by not always doing the right thing, and you can trust that you're in good hands when you deal with the kind of business that meets those criteria. Brombergs does it all, and they do it well. Next time you're shopping, or even browsing, definitely stop in. I've been a customer at Bromberg's for decades now and have always appreciated their service. After a break from watch collecting, I visited the Summit location to pick up an Oyster Perpetual for my 60th birthday. Unfortunately, the watch was unavailable for purchase however I met Ms. Holly and she graciously added me to a wait list. Though the watch never arrived I've been back several times and always feel welcomed and very much enjoy the friendship I feel with Holly, Salim, and recently Andrew. I must say, after having a less-than-stellar experience with another jewelry company a few weeks prior, I was definitely anxious and a little stressed as I walked through the doors of this place. To my surprise, we were greeted and acknowledged IMMEDIATELY by a friendly girl named Katy, who seemed eager and genuinely happy to assist us. When we told her we were wanting to look at engagement rings, she directed us over to the engagement case and was there immediately to assist in our selection. She was more than happy to let me try on multiple pieces, and gave alternatives when the store didn't have exactly what I was asking for. We spent a good 20 minutes worth of trying on e-rings, and she was patient and helpful the entire time without rushing us or getting impatient. After trying on rings, I asked to see the Rolex watches--I made it clear that I just wanted to view them and had no intention of purchasing one. Still, she was friendly, patient, and accommodating even though I *clearly* was in no financial position to drop $35k on a watch on that random Saturday. My experience here was extraordinarily pleasant, and I will absolutely make fine jewelry purchases here in the future due to the kind staff and exceptional service! read more

Had a weird experience in here on Christmas Eve. My fiancé and I were at Trader Joe's and decided to stop in to look at wedding bands while at the summit. We were definitely open to making a purchase that day, as we were down to exactly 8 weeks until our wedding day. He had never been into Bromberg's before, but I could not stop raving about the service and the jewelry quality, so we stopped in. I will admit that we were underdressed for Bromberg's. My dad has an account here and I have been in numerous times to help him pick gifts for myself, my sister, and my mom, so I realize that there is an unspoken dress code. I just never realized how the treatment differs based on how you're dressed. We were offered very subpar service. Like, of the 20+ times I've been in this Bromberg's in the past it was a noticeable difference in service quality. It seemed like the sales woman had zero interest in even showing us the wedding bands. She even started a conversation with another group of people who walked in m while we were trying on bands! (She was not the only salesperson present or available to help them). I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume her attitude was because she was working on Christmas Eve or some other reason. My wife and I went into this store today looking for a certain timepiece. Of course they only had 4 Rolex's; all AD's have few in the cases. They sell them to their favorite customers or flippers first- so the general public is not able to purchase a Rolex at standard retail price unless you purchase other things from the AD. They do have a lot of inventory of other things. They have more DY than any place I have been. I have been to DY boutiques and they didn't have as much inventory as Bromberg had today. Unfortunately the DY presentation in the cases looked more like a Kay's or Jared display. Unfortunately the Tudor watches were also just lined up without any special attention given to its display. I thought Bromberg would have a display of the newest Tudor BB that was released this week- but it was no where to be found. The sales staff were huddle together and offered no help after the greeting by the one staff member when we walked into the store. The security guard was seated and flipping with his phone- he didn't even look up when we walked by. Bromberg has a lot of stuff- but their displays and service was not what we have seen from other high end jewelers! read more

Not bad price wise. I didn't find what I was looking for with the salesperson. I wandered over to estate jewelry and found the band that matched my engagement ring. I was so excited because my engagement ring is so unique and Bailey Banks and Biddle Jewelry store is closed I was searching with little enthusiasm. The sales guy was a little pushy, but backed off, then I pushy but backed off then I couldn't find him to open the case. The price was extremely less then I was expecting. So I buy the ring and I ask for the appraisal. Hello??? He says that he has to send for it. I'm like open mouth now! He says 3 days. Five days later I return to the store for sizing. The sizing women is not that friendly, but I'm only here for sizing. The that I had with this woman is that she continued to brashly insist that my ring did not need need to as small as I asked. I have lost 30lbs since marriage and my engagement ring twists. She assured me that the band would keep both in place!!! That was not true and it's been months that I waited to post this. Both rings turn totally around to my palm. two fun facts: The appraisal came a month post purchase, possibly 3 calls to the store help. During the sizing I politely asked for a new box due to the torn edges and glue that were on my original box. (I wore the ring out the store). The sizing woman said and I quote"all are boxes are like that!). I stated I would like another box and she back with about 4 boxes. Three boxes were raggedy the nicest one was an earring box. I would shop around. Their are other jewelers with better service. read more

I have shopped here a few times, for special occasions. A year and a half ago I purchased a bracelet. Have not been back until a couple of weeks ago, I came in to purchase a gift on Christmas. Katy, the salesperson remembered me, and what I bought(Before she ever asked my name). Maybe she has a killer memory, but something has to be said for her customer service. I am a younger watch enthusiast and in many instances have been blown off by store managers or people working the counter at other stores. With that being said I was in the market to buy a new watch and had a phenomenal experience with Karen at Bromberg's today. I had mentioned that I simply wanted to look at things and had not mentioned that I'd be making a purchase. She happily showed well over a dozen watches to me and was adequately knowledgeable on every one. I found a tag formula one that I had seen about 300$ cheaper online but decided to purchase that day at Bromberg's and pay a little more because of the excellent customer service and respect that I received. I went here to purchase a gift for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. The gift itself turned out wonderfully; their crystal engraver did a fantastic job! My one gripe is that the lady who wrapped it did not remove the price tag on the gift. I thought removing the tag was a no brainer, yet she didn't do it. I've never felt so dissatisfied with the customer service at a jeweler's! Disgraceful attitude from the staff and poor customer treatment. We were practically ignored when we walked in the door, goodness knows why they deemed us unworthy of a cursory "hello" or "good morning," and as we browsed, they tried as hard as they could to pretend we weren't there while they talked to the other customers around us. Seriously distasteful - nothing worse than feeling that sort of snobbery from people when you're the one ready to give a store your business. We were perfectly well dressed and I feel we would have looked sufficiently 'affluent' and 'within budget' - not that it should even be a consideration on their part! Unacceptable comportment from the surly people working there. Gladly took my business elsewhere. read more
