I had to think about how to write this review because there is so much to say. When you are traveling with your horses and need a layover, this place is a gem. We were tired hauling horses from KY to N. CA. Got in midnight. Susan, might sound rough to some, but she is first class with first class treatment and taste. Her stalls are immaculate and safe. She bedded the stalls very heavily (I told her I thought she should use less and let people pay for more). The ranch has a big arena for turnout. This said, the HIGHLIGHT was her BEAUTIFUL COMFORTABLE BUNK HOUSE. OMG. Two bedrooms with the most comfortable adjustable beds! I couldn't believe it. I thought my back would be broken from driving. Broken M Ranch the rooms have such wonderful touches. The places (more than one bunk house) are so romantic. Ours house had a big kitchen. Big rooms, real bottles of shampoo and conditioner, FOOD: SNACKS, MILK, EGGS, COFFEE. Seriously, I wished I lived closer because I would honestly stay here to get away. The houses have electric fireplaces. There are so many personal touches throughout the bunkhouses. You might pay a little more, Stalls are $45 a night. It is worth it. If you can, you should stay here and not a hotel. I have stayed in many 4-5 star hotels, I would pick Susans 2 bedroom bunkhouse. We paid $125 a night. OH, our horse got sick. It was Saturday and the main vet was off. Susan called and he came. OUr horse was taken to the local vet hospital and given 20 liters of fluid. She is ready to go. This is just a great place to come she travelling. Worth the money in my opinion. Just edited this review because I saw the other review about boarding that gave one star. Every equestrian facility I know has a 30-day policy. The policy is for people -possibly like the other reviewer- who might leave without paying. People get turned away if a barn is full. If someone is leaving, they need to give notice. Also, it costs a ton of money to keep a facility running for horses. Most small barns try to absorb he costs for the boarders. If you do not own a facility, then you just may have no concept of expenses, hiring help, fixing things, etc. It is getting harder and harder to find good places because people are difficult to deal with and it's expensive to keep operating. read more

The Broken M Ranch was very cozy for the horses and my family! Very much felt at home. Big roomy stalls and snacks provided.

Super cute bunkhouse, great stopping place with your horses!!! And can stay in the super cute bunkhouse, with tv, internet etc.

Very poor service for those wanting to board full time. No round pen available. Located next to busy 4 lane road with extreme noise level from cars and trucks using the two filling stations/mini marts just adjacent the property. The other surrounding properties have 4 wheelers and ATV's that are active. Required to sign agreement to pay full board unless 30 days notice is given. Stable owner difficult to communicate with, unprofessional conduct. read more

First time I've hauled my horses such a long distance and this was such a pleasant experience! Stalls were ready for us when we got there, the horses were comfortable and happy. Dukes Place was perfect for me and my family to sleep in. Will definitely be coming back again. Thank you! read more

My first time hauling horses any distance. Found the accommodations very comfortable and the horses were safe and comfortable in the outdoor covered large pens. I actually slept very well on the comfortable bed in the Bunkhouse. Didn't think I would sleep being worried about my traveling and horses. Felt so at home my dog and I slept well. We continued our travel rested and ready to go. My Albuquerque family brought me dinner and we sat outside in the nice courtyard with green grass. The arena was perfect for my horses to roll and run around after we got there after a long day. Also I turned them after breakfast before we loaded. I was so pleasantly surprised by this horse motel. Soft arena for turn out or riding and nice safe stalls. There's a big fenced in parking lot and some areas to plug in if needed. The most amazing was the room Duke's place. Decadent king sized bed with down comforter and the adjustable stand. Full cable tv. Snacks, cereal, soda, milk and coffee were all provided in the adorably decorated, extremely comfortable room. I'm going to be sure to tell everyone I know who travels with horses. read more

I came to Broken M Ranch back in July. This is the nicest HORSE HOTEL in Albuquerque New Mexico! The owner Susan is amazing and bends over backwards to ensure that her clients have an excellent experience while providing the cleanest stalls for the animals! The Bunkhouse and Dukes place are beautifully decorated! The beds are AMAZING! The snacks and drinks provided are a great touch!!! IF I COULD GIVE MORE STARS I CERTAINLY WOULD! Susan is an awesome host and her place is soooo cozy & homey. She treats you like family and I like the fact that it is close to a couple of minimarts then I don't have to get in my truck and haul a horse trailer to go get supplies or unhook a horse trailer to go get supplies. Once you are in one of her comfortable bunkhouses you do not hear any noise. Our horse is older and had not been trailered in eight years and he did not want to get in the trailer so she got a friend of her's over there who was like a horse whisperer and had him in the trailer within 15 minutes by just working and talking to him he was amazing! This is the only place we will ever stay with a horse in Albuquerque and she has snacks and breakfast items in the bunkhouse for you included in the price as well and the most comfortable beds! read more

We stayed at the ranch coming from Virginia to Arizona traveling with 4 horses and 4 dogs. We had stopped and stayed over in 2 other places along the way to put horses up but we stayed in our trailer those nights.This time my husband thought we would stay in a bunk house at Susan's because they looked so nice on the website... we were NOT disappointed in ANYWAY. We stayed in the Duke and it was like staying at a 5 star hotel with treatment the same. The bed was big and comfortable , snacks and coffee and Huge TV with tons of channels . The horses had huge stalls with tons of soft fresh shavings, feed tubs and fresh clean water waiting for them. Big arena to turn out to stretch their legs. Susan was so hospitable and kind. We took her up on the suggestion of going to the food truck across the street and had the best fresh real Mexican food. We give you 5 stars all the way!! read more

Susan is a great host. I've been staying there for the last 5 years on my way from Colorado to Arizona. One of the best horse hotels I've ever stayed at. Facility is top notch. My stalls were all ready for me when I got there. Water and shavings. The bunk house I slept in was very nice. Food included. Susan rocks as a host. I wish I could give 6 stars. read more
