This tour was entertaining and great for the price. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The kids were allowed to collect rocks along the way and they loved that. A fun, quick, family adventure.

Visited on a Wednesday morning (around 9am) in July and was able to get a private tour as no one else had arrived at this time. I found this tour to be quite interesting as I've never been in a gold mine and hearing about the stories of what life was like for miners back in time. I really enjoyed the part when you get to experience complete darkness in the mine. The tour lasts about 30 mins, and my tour guide Nathan was really informative and lively. Because I was the only one on the tour, I was able to ask specific questions about the mine and the surrounding Deadwood area, as the tour is scripted to cover all the key topics in 30 mins. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a quick activity.

Just loved our time here! Perfect for our family of five to do! We have three boys ages 13,8,7 and they all enjoyed it. Our youngest is iffy on things like this, but it was wide enough throughout and didn't feel like we were squeezed in at all. Jerad was a great tour guide, answered all questions from kids and adults. Worth our time and money! We also decided to skip the panning and just purchase gold nuggets for the kids! A great stop on our road trip to Iowa from Montana.

Worth the $6 admission. Entertaining tour provided by our guide Block-A aka Blake. Nice way to escape the summer heat

As advertised on the Deadwood Site this 'attraction' offers a glimpse ofthe Chinese tunnels and…read moreopium dens. Actually has remnants of the original boardwalk and almost 40 feet of original storefront. The real Flavor of this place though is the tour itself! I had an idea it was going to be CHEESY when the guy running the place would NOT even look me in the face when I asked about tour times and prices! It was only $5 a head(plus tax, kids free) but after going on the self-guided, tape recorded, way hokey tour that wound you around the basement of the saloon above, I could understand why the guy looked guilty about taking my money! If you really want to see the things advertised in the pamphlet you will, but be prepared for a good laugh otherwise. Go with your sense of humor! OH, I forgot! you get to pick a free rock in the middle of the tour!

This is the biggest SCAM in deadwood. I would have been proud of the displays from my 4th grade…read moredaughter for a school project, but to charge money and sell this as a historical destination is absurd. It is embarrassing to the Chinese culture that this place exists as a legit stop that is marketed in Deadwood. If the founders of this establishment genuinely cared about the history of Chinese workers in Deadwood, they would have spent much more time and resources putting together a display and piece of history worth visiting. I love Deadwood, but left embarrassed to have visited this SCAM.
