Brogan Concrete replaced my residential driveway at a cost of approximately $43,000 and the job was a disaster. The driveway incorporated decorative concrete strips that were a different color (terracotta to match the roof of the home) than the grey color of the rest of the concrete.
However, after initially doing a great job, 2 cracks appeared in the strips and I asked the contractor if they could be fixed. They did shoddy and unprofessional work to try and patch and stain the cracks, but the patch job was a mess and they used a different color for the stain, leaving the driveway totally unacceptable in appearance. Mr. Brogan offered to have someone come back to further "fix" the problem by staining the strips a darker color to try and hide the problem, but by that time I had lost confidence in his ability to do so, in light of (i) his self-professed ignorance of concrete staining, (ii) his inability to recommend either a type or brand name of stain to be used (my research disclosed a variety of factors to be considered when selecting the proper stain); (iii) the fact that his foreman was initially unable to successfully patch the 2 cracks, and actually made them worse by staining them a color that does not match the rest of the driveway, including smearing the color over more of the strips than was necessary, thus making the problem even more pronounced; and (iv) the fact that I had every reason to believe in light of what happened that he would make the problem even worse by attempting to "fix" it a second time.
In light of that, I hired a different contractor called Xano521 to remedy the mess Brogan Concrete made of my driveway, by applying an epoxy/polyurea concrete coating to every single strip in the driveway, at a cost of over $4,000, so that they had a uniform appearance. If Mr. Brogan had warned me (which he should have) before his foreman attempted to repair the 2 cracks that they could have turned out the way they did, I never would have agreed to his proposed repairs.
I cannot tell you how disgusted I am that I paid Brogan Concrete $43,000 to replace my driveway, only to have to spend another $4,000 to fix their mistakes. I do not recommend Brogan Concrete to anyone. read more
