We popped in here on our way to lunch and were immediately greeted by the most friendly man (possibly the pharmacist) who helped up choose what was needed. Not looking to make a quick buck, but seemingly more interested in our well being and how much we spent, he pulled down three options of salve and told us the price on all of them. We chose the one we wanted, paid and were on our way. Before leaving though, the cheery guy thanked us, wished us well and hoped for our return soon. Jeez, if all shop staff were this friendly, the world would be such a better place. This place is the best.

The…read morepharmacist works in the back behind the counter and there are a few seats against the window so people can sit while they wait for prescriptions - in my experience the wait is not generally a long one. There's more available for sale too - vitamins and first aid items, as well as some cosmetics and toiletries. You're not going to find a Benefit counter here, but if you're just after some nail polish remover or something they can manage that. They do also have a few accessories and other bits and pieces.

Confusing, much?! It's a nice little pharmacy, though, with a good selection of haircare, make up and pharmacy products for the size. They stock an almost full selection of John Frieda and Tony & Guy hair products - and even sell home-perming kits. (I told you it was a slightly bizarre Pharmacy!) The staff are friendly and service was quick. They also have a little treatment room if you want to talk to the Pharmacists about anything - and I think they do flu jabs in there too.

Ok, so i keep banging on about the shops on this strip and about how they are fighting the good fight, but go damn it,its true. Located not 100 yards away from Herr Tesco, the Maryhill pharmacy looks to be doing a fine trade in all things pharmaceutical in nature.....ok, they may have the edge on Tesco in being able to actually hand out prescriptions, and given that there is a drug addiction drop in centre just up the road, but hey, you can only play to your strengths! Anyway, if you don't fancy blustering your way through the silly big tesco with its cues, dogs and resident nutters, then this my friend is your place.
