This is about the cafe at Brocksbushes: avoid their coffee. We had an espresso (no hint of crema), a capuchino, and a latte (the later two watery).
Also note that they only accept credit cards for amounts of at least £8. read more
Called in for a break on the way home from hadrians wall, wish I'd read previous reviews gone to the esso garage for a drink, the coffee was the worst I've had for a long time, not a lot more to say really but I won't be returning. read more
Cafe attached to a fairly typical farm shop (i.e., quality produce at a price).
I find the cafe fairly confusing in terms of what is on offer and as a result invariably have a slice of homemade pie or quiche. Both Corned Beef Pie and Salmon Quiche were delicious. Filter Coffee was above average and the free refill a nice touch.
I would happily recommend the food based on the above limitations. read more
I'm sad to say its not that great anymore! Last few times I've been there is a lack of large cakes and its more tray bakes, which are good but not as nice when you went specially for a nice slice of cake. Filter coffee isn't so bad and can get free refill from flask near the till but last time I got a lattee and had to return it as my cup was only a third full once the froth settled! Happens regularly too. It's got competition now in my eyes and I'd rather go elsewhere. However the produce from the shop is great but a little bit on the expensive side. Nice for a treat. read more
