I had a problem with my 240V plug I use for charging my EV. It was overheating. Paul from Brock Electric came over to help me out. He found a number of issues with the work done by another electrician. The breakers in the box were of too high of an amperage for my application. The plug was too cheap. The wiring was improperly stripped damaging the copper wire, and finally the electrical box itself was not grounded. Yikes! I am glad to have that all fixed. 240 Volts is no joke. Paul was referred to me for a home job I wanted done - (adding some recessed lights) - I was so impressed at the attention to detail, the protection of all our stuff, the speed of service and quality of work I contracted with him to do a bunch of miscellaneous projects at my shop (Scott's Econo Lube in Citrus Heights) - The jobs including rewiring and repairing a bunch of exotic lighting (not sure why they couldn't use regular bulbs?) - from some sort of sodium light and ballast for parking lot lights - to oddball halogen lighting ++ he did it all, He even had to bring out a lift and everything - I made the mistake of not getting a quote in advance and was worried about how much this was going to cost - alas my worries were for not - the price was fair and the work great! This place is really horrible. I had an Appt for them to come out to change a breaker on my home. They didn't show up that day and did not call either. I thought they may have forgotten about the appointment, so I didn't make a big deal from it. A few days later, I thought I would give them a second chance, so I called again and scheduled another appointment for the next day between 4-5pm. I waited at home again. No show, not even a phone call. This tells you enough about this business. I was having issues with intermittent power outages in multiple rooms, and aside from the inconvenience, was concerned about the potential fire hazard. Paul was able to come by right away and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue (worn-out, outdated outlets resulting in poor connections) and also installed a ceiling fan in less than 90 mins. He's honest, efficient, experienced, and very reasonably priced. We had Paul out to do a breaker panel change on our project. The utility company ended up requiring a new service box in the ground in order for the service to be restored to the property. we had paul and his crew (paul +1) show up on time and the job was completed on time. we were told it was a 2 day job, and he was done exactly in 2 days. the first time we had him out was to wire for a ceiling fan, wire and install 3 sconce lights in the back, 12 can lights, 2 tilting can lights (spot lights), and swapped out couple of existing CFL's with LED's.. we needed lot of additional lighting and went LED's. the second time we had him out to wire and install at my moms and additional work for our place again. wired and installed couple of more can lights and added another sconce light out front. both times, he stuck to the schedule and no additional hidden fees. he shows up on time and leaves with all the waste that was created through out the day. we have no complaints about paul or his work. if we're ever in need of additional electrical work, we'll be reaching out to paul again. read more

Our experience having Paul come out has always been what you would always hope for when having to call in a contractor. He is not only thorough and efficient, he is also extremely courteous and considerate. He is always bang on time, and he makes sure you understand exactly what work is required and why before starting anything. We recently called in a larger, heating and air company to look at why our AC was flipping the breaker every time we turned it on and therefore not functioning to cool the house. All that company's guy did was flip the breaker and charge us $75, advising that "if it happens again..." which, of course it immediately did, to call them again. I found Paul after another reputable electrician started the job I needed done and left after 2 hrs to compete a "more important" job, thus leaving my job unfinished. I called Paul, and even though he was out of town working another job that day, he came to my house the same evening to give me a bid on what I needed done. I originally hired him to install 12 can lights, but after informing me of an awesome deal on LED cans, he not only worked with me so that I could take advantage of the deal and go get the necessary material, but he installed an extra 6 cans and switched out the inserts for another 8 cans the same day so that they could all match. Paul completed in one day plus all of my extras, what my previous contractor estimated would take TWO men at least a day and a half. Paul is a hard worker, aims to please, and is a real pleasure to work with. He has restored my faith in professional and honest contractors after my not so ideal encounter the first time around. After putting in a long day to finish my job, he even fixed a wiring issue/mess left behind by my previous electrician.
