Dont take your sick pets here. They don't care and have no compassion if your animal dies because of them.

The staff are so kind and flexible with travel changes (if you need to pick up earlier or stay an extra night) which is really helpful when flying. They have a great pre-check feature where you can give a lot of detail on your dog's stay. I typically send toys that I don't mind losing just as a precaution, but they've never lost anything I've sent with my dog and everything comes back neatly packed in his bag. I don't worry about my baby at all while he is at Uptown.

I noticed my dog's food bags had maybe 10% gone. I know some dogs may be nervous and not eat, but that and the wrapped bones still in the bag?? Also my pooch came home with scrapes of some sort on her chin- they could have at least told us. They have a live camera where you can check in online, each time I did all the like-size dogs were inside together in a playroom. Note that playtime is paid for, separate from boarding fee. They didn't change it up for variety with good weather, low effort. I am left feeling sad for my dog and irritated at the incompetence and wish I had trusted a different boarding facility. As a loving pet owner do not trust this business!

We've been clients of this clinic for about three years and, until recently, had trusted them with…read morethe care of our pets through some very difficult moments--including saying goodbye to two of our senior dogs. Over that time, we worked with multiple veterinarians here and spent thousands of dollars, so we genuinely believed there was a level of mutual trust and respect. In the past, the clinic had shown some flexibility when large bills came up, which we appreciated as loyal, long-term customers. However, our most recent visit completely changed our perception. We were quoted $254 for routine blood and urine testing, which is already on the higher side. When we asked for just a couple of days to settle the payment--something that had been accommodated before--we were unexpectedly refused. Instead, we were pressured at the front desk to apply for a credit line on the spot, and we were not allowed to leave until we addressed the payment situation. The experience felt incredibly uncomfortable, forced, and frankly disrespectful. After years of loyalty and significant financial commitment, being treated this way was shocking. It felt like the clinic no longer values its long-term clients and has shifted toward a rigid, impersonal, and customer-unfriendly approach. Between the high pricing and the way this situation was handled, we've decided to take our business elsewhere. This was, without question, one of the worst experiences we've had at any veterinary clinic. We will not be returning.

I have had several animals vetted there prior to change in ownership and they were wonderful. Even helped me with my semi feral cat who gets bad allergy breakouts. They vetted him by picture and it worked. Otherwise, I have to trap the poor kitty with a coon trap. New vet won't prescribe the medication (saying it's illegal / a steroid) unless he is seen. Won't to do it with pictures even though we've been treating him for years this way (he's indoor for 9 years but still won't be picked up). So the cat gets to suffer OR be mentally anguished by being trapped. I guess the original vet wasn't worried about jail time. He was worried for the animal. Will be taking ALL my animals elsewhere going forward.

Her property really shows how much she cares about the pets she takes in for daycare and overnight. She does pick up and drop offs conveniently located off I75. Her prices are very reasonable and it's much much better then traditional boarding places. Here the dogs are out majority of the day playing and being dogs! I will not take my dog anywhere else! We…read morediscovered K9 Safari when searching for a place that we could board our German Shepherd with severe separation anxiety. He was a rescue and standard kennels are a 100% No Go for him. We went and checked out the K9 Safari facility and were impressed with the spaces provided for the dogs to play both inside and outside. Despite the facility being in Richmond, Marlize makes drop off and pick up convenient for clients by offering drop offs right off I75 or at various locations in Lexington. My two Shepherds get excited when they see the doggie bus pull in and they hop right in. That tells me they are happy there and I don't feel bad having to leave them when we go on vacation. She regularly sends pics of the dogs to us via text so we can see how much fun they are having there. I often say our one Shepherd is actually sad when she has to come home because she only has one dog to play with at home vs lots and lots of different dogs there. I recommend K9 Safari to everyone who is looking for somewhere to board their pups.

All I have to do is say "Jack jack, do you want to go get a hair cut?" and my dog perks up and runs to sit by the back door. He loves the two owners to pieces and always dances around when he walks in, super excited to see them. I've had animals all of my life and I've taken them to various groomers ranging from Georgetown to Lexington to Richmond and I've never been happier with a facility than I am with this place. I will never bring my pup anywhere else! To Abby J. below: There are leash laws in Lexington and I'm glad they said something to you because if I witnessed you with your dog off of a leash (whether people were in the parking lot or not) I would have said something to you as well! It takes only one time and one second for your dog to attack someone else or to run out into the road and end up injured or dead. If you're too lazy to leash your dog for 5 seconds, you're too lazy to own a dog. I also find it hard to believe they had an attitude with you over the time you would arrive to pick up your dog. I work in Georgetown and have, many times, called them to apologize and say that with traffic and the time I get off work, that I wouldn't be there until right at 6pm and they were perfectly fine with that. However, I also chose to give them more than a 15 minutes notice because I'm not rude. ;) I would venture to guess that it's likely your behavior and attitude that resulted in a poor customer experience because I've never once had a single hint of unprofessional-ism from either of the owners. You knew well before 5:45pm that you wouldn't arrive until close to 6pm and the fact that you had to take New Circle during rush hour didn't cross your mind at all or factor into the time you gave? Lol It sounds like you were the problem in this situation.

This is the spot, and the lady that works there is nothing less than a complete professional who did a phenomenal job.
