    Chips and queso

Located in a charming old building in downtown Herington, Broadway Station is one of only two sit-down restaurants in town--and it definitely holds its own. While the exterior hints at its age, the interior has been tastefully redone. It's clean, fresh, and surprisingly spacious, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff was fast, attentive, and very friendly--great service all around. To start, I had the chips and queso, which I'd rate a solid 7.9 out of 10. A nice way to kick things off. For my main, I went with the Firecracker Chicken Wrap and a baked potato. The flavors were good--definitely a bit of a kick--but the portion size left something to be desired. I'd give that dish a 6.8. All in all, Broadway Station is worth a visit if you're passing through or live nearby. It's got potential, and I'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu. Support your local spots--this one's on the right track!

A great addition to downtown Herington. The food and service is phenomenal. The decor brings back fond memories of my hometown. There is ample space so you don't feel crowded. This place rivals anything in the larger cities! Go!!!

Famous mashed potatoes, yep they were cooked but nothing to write home about

Service and food very good. I like there is music, karaoke and a variety of activities offered. They have really embraced the community.

A true hidden gem in Kansas…read more The menu brings a vintage Route 66 vibe with a classic Kansas twist that makes the whole experience feel nostalgic in the best way. Everything is made fresh to order, so don't expect a quick in-and-out meal unless you call ahead. The wait is part of the process, and honestly, it shows in the quality. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there are a few things to be aware of. The menu can be a bit misleading. The grill top and utensils are shared with meat, and all fried food is cooked in beef tallow. That means fried items are not vegan or vegetarian. If cross contamination is a concern, I recommend letting the staff know so they can change gloves and sticking with options like a salad without meat toppings. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to answer questions, which made navigating the menu much easier. I didn't notice a microwave, and it was pretty busy during my visit, but it might be worth asking if the black bean or vegan patty can be prepared separately. There are gluten free and keto options on the menu. Others in my group really enjoyed their meals, and my salad was fresh presented well. I would definitely come back. I just wish there were more clearly food prepseparated options for vegetarian and vegan dishes so more people could fully enjoy what they offer. OH and if you dare, there is a food challenge with their habanero sauce!

The place gave me a fast casual eatery vibe but also a little feel of grandma's house because of this small glass showcase they had with some items in it. All food items are priced decently. I got the blackened fish with rice and fries and my husband got the Hornet Burger with fries. Both dishes were really good. The fish was cooked just right, moist and seasoned really well. The burger was also done perfectly with a juicy tasty patty. Fries were fresh and crispy...cherry on top!! Service was quick and the staff was very sweet. The restaurant was also very clean. They even have some of their own sauces and salsas for sale, plus some grab-and-go options which is nice and convenient especially for college students. Note - they also have a Do-B's reaper burger challenge which sounds fascinating. However, I don't ever think i will be able to try it ever Haha. To conclude - 5/5 for me.

I wouldn't call Ol Stuga a dive bar, but I also wouldn't not call it a dive bar. It's definitely not fancy or trendy. This is not the place to get a glass of wine. (I'm not entirely sure they even have any wine.) They don't have any local beer on tap. But that's not Ol Stuga's fault -- Kansas isn't really a craft beer state, I've learned. Bud Lite and domestics are what you'll find here, mostly. One of the first things you'll notice when you walk into Ol Stuga is all of the money on the ceiling. I sat at the bar, next to a guy who seemed like a regular. I asked the guy why there were so many dollar bills stuck to the ceiling of the bar. He told me, and unfortunately for you, I don't remember what he said because there was alcohol involved. If you want to know why there is money on the ceiling of Ol Stuga, you'll just have to visit and find out for yourself. They have a few things on tap here, and I got a fruity beer from Missouri. I wanted something "local," and Missouri was the most local place that Ol Stuga had on tap. The beer was really good -- light and refreshing. Later, I told some locals that I had visited Ol Stuga, and they high-fived me and asked, "Did they treat you OK?" I was like, "Um, yeah? Why?" And they said that sometimes fights break out every once in a while. I didn't see any fights while I was there, unfortunately, but everyone at OS was great and I had a great time.
