Don't know why but this place hasn't really been reviewed on yelp or other social sites? Well let me tell ya the truth about this new restaurant in our town. Sucks, Ambience is kinda weird with a very open table concept. Looks like a dance hall with smattering of tables put on the floor so folks can eat. Not quaint by a long shot. Well let's get down to telling you about our first experience at the Broadway Station. Tonight started off a little rough, ordered a dirty martini, after about 5 minutes the bartender came over to the table and informed us that she couldn't make a dirty martini because someone tossed out the olive juice? To avoid an issue, I suggested she add a bunch of olives into the drink for flavor and I'd take it as is. Now this place has only been in business for about 4 months so you can expect a couple of hiccups here and there. The restaurant advertises that Fridays and Saturdays are "Prime Rib" nights... awesome...so we ordered medium rare prime rib with loaded baked potatoes and salads. Was asked if we'd like our salads to start with and we said yes. Kinda a dumb question but again place is new. Less than 5 minutes later the prime rib dinner shows up and no salad?? WTF! Requested that the dinner go back until we receive our food in the correct order starting with salads and then the entree. In addition, before the waiter took back the entree, I touched the food and discovered that the PR was cold and the baked potatoes were mushy? Asked the waiter if we could speak to the Manager. Yep no problem, so here comes Patty the manager, who was sitting at the bar the whole time with her back to the guest. After talking to people on the way over she finally made it to our table to hear our concerns. We told her we would kinda like to get meal in a traditional fashion, salads before the entree and serving us with a cold PR wasn't really something we expected at a price of $27.00 each. Patty then informed us that we ordered the last 2 PR's and baked potatoes? Again WTF!! I'm guessing either eat it or go without. Folks really! If you advertised it's PR night and the restaurant has none to offer at 7:00 pm, which is historically when the big spenders are out for dinner, gives most customers the impression that the establishment has problems. Using the excuse "until gone" or "only while supply last" doesn't cut it folks! If you advertise PR night you need to be ready to serve it whether it's 7 or 9pm, that's the cost of doing business. Patty agreed with our complaint and admitted that she told the kitchen staff that she thought the baked potatoes and PR didn't look good before we were served them? So why did the food come out of the kitchen? A good restaurant manager would never let subpar food be served especially in a new place that is trying to get a foot hold in a small town. She then suggested that maybe we go with another menu choice, like steaks, ok again remember this is a start up place so we changed to steaks as suggested with baked potatoes. Oh no!!! No baked potato because the only baked potatoes in house were still in the oven cooking and wouldn't be done for about another 30 minutes? Ok what the heck, we can live with this, we'll have another drink and wait it out, so no issues, let's reset and give the place another chance. Within 10 minutes here comes our dinners, steaks with half cook baked potatoes cut up to look like they were done. Again WTF?? Patty comes over, looks at the potatoes and agrees that they aren't done being baked. She then suggests that we maybe go with the mash potatoes. Not our favorite combination but maybe the mashed ones will be cooked all the way through. Really don't know what to think about this place. Wow it has got some major issues, staff that doesn't communicate, chefs that aren't really chefs, Business manager sitting at the bar ignoring what the very young and inexperienced staff is doing, and the owners are out camping thinking everything is running like a fine tuned machine. Place has been open for about 4 months with lots of hype and FB bragging. Owners, I truly hate to burst your bubble but you need to stop and regroup. I'll give ya a clue....at the rate you're going your establishment will never get a rating higher than a 2 star cafe! Tonight we spent just under a $100 dollars including a $20 tip and Patty never once offered us a customary comp for receiving such a crappy experience! Sure hope the owners were having a great time camping while incompetent staff ruin their restaurant dreams. After tonight, I wouldn't give this "flash in a pan" 6 months tops before the happy owners start facing some real serious hard times. A business cannot be successful without putting in hard work and hiring talented staff..... hint... you might start with sending your cook to culinary school, because a real chef would know when a potato is truly baked. Good luck, we won't be back anytime soon. read more
