The proximity to the city's main bus hub makes it a natural gathering point--not just for commuters transferring to the People Mover, but also for those seeking shelter, rest, or a moment of pause in the urban bustle. While the station itself is utilitarian in design, its role as a spillover space from the Rosa Parks Transit Center gives it a lived-in quality. It's not glamorous, but it's undeniably part of Detroit's transit heartbeat. [Review 989 of 2025 - 468 in Michigan - 24543 overall] [NOTE: I have asked Yelp TWICE to move this to downtown Detroit. They've looked and each time, left it here. I can't try a third time.]

The place is kept generally clean.  There are many transients in the area.  I haven't seen any in here but I don't make the place a regular stop yet.  Very few others seem to do so.  I do not see many people waiting for the train on the platform and the cars themselves are sparsely populated.  The problem with the system is its limitations.  If you have driven down to Detroit for some reason it is usually one or two places in which case parking the car and walking is probably preferred to finding the nearest People Mover station and figuring out where the nearest stop is to where you are going.  By that time you've already driven to the city and parked anyway.  Eventually it will all get out.  Right now 75 cents get you one of the best tourist attractions around.  Take the kids or family and friends.  You get to see most of the city from the inside out! Back to the transients, however, there is drug activity still in the area.  There are lots of corners in this station and any mirrors or reflective surfaces provided are limited in use.  Be aware.

I was trying to get out without hitting the huge trailer they had blocking the other way out so. When I went to tell the guy it would have been nice of him to be more considerate of where they pulled in, he got defensive and started to state that I ran into him. There were several trucks and at least 2 with trailers all around this one pump. Now, I wasn't asking for insurance info or even blaming him for my judgement of how close I was, just that he should be more considerate of where they were and making sure they did not block people parking. He rude and obnoxious and told me it was my fault that I ran into HIS trailer. I then raised my voice again and stated that I would not have hit the trailer if it was either pulled forward a little more or not blocking the way out. IF this is how you allow your employees to treat people, and just be polite enough to say that they would be more careful, then you need to send them for customer service training. The others guys just were laughing, I don't know if they were laughing at him or me, but I did not appreciate it. Too bad that you seem to have some nice comments, but consideration to where the vehicles are parked and not at least apologizing for not looking for another pump or helping me to get out of the parking spot without hitting them, would have shown a respect. Again, I am not asking for any insurance money to fix my vehicle, it is not that bad, but your employees need to learn some common respect without getting all defensive and rude. Young and cocky I don't do as I was brought up better than that, and this young man just thought he was in the right, even when I told him that I just wanted to let him know that it would have been better for him not to block someone in. Cars would not get damaged. I take responsibility for hitting the 1 ton trailer, but your employee needs to take responsibility of bad judgement of where he parked to get gas. There were three other pumps that all have diesel on them and farther away from the parking by the corner where it is too close to have those kind of vehicles with trailers attached.
