Came in to get something for my birthday this week and look at higher end watches including Rolex for a big milestone I have at the end of the year. Well comes time to just LOOK at the Rolexes and was just told a flat... no. Not "Sorry, not right now, would you like to set up an appointment to view?" Not, "Well we can't show them right now, but if you want to talk about them we have an associate with knowledge on them!" Just.... no. Never walked out of a store so fast in my life. They're acting like it's the post COVID boom and it's somehow a blessing on their end to sell you a $10k+ watch. I was more than happy to continue a purchase history and play their games, I was looking at an $11k Grand Seiko if they let me even *discuss* the gold Yachtmaster on Oysterflex (not even a super desirable one) I had my eye on for December. But thanks to their, umm, "business practices". I was able to go home and see the same Grand Seiko, unworn, for sale online at $8k so I guess I should thank Leonardos for saving me three thousand dollars? If you want to know *exactly* what they think of you, ask what their used Rolex two tone Root Beer that they have for sale will cost you. Then ask them why they also sell a brand new one for thousands and thousands cheaper, they just won't sell it to you. Because you're nothing to them. A watch enthusiast who actually enjoys the watches and will cherish them for a lifetime gets shown the door. You need a 6 figure buying history of the junk they can't sell to even be visible in their eyes.
