Under 5 hours later, we were shaking hands and hugging it out. Well, not really -- there were no hugs. But they did a great job installing my new split-rail fence with two custom gates and inside fence wire. I love it. My wife loves it. I'm sure the neighbors will love it, too. If you're on the fence about your next fence, I recommend Dalton Fence.

Let me start with the positive. Lonnie's company ended up building a really nice deck. This is the…read moreonly reason I am giving them two stars. We gave them a deposit July 30th to build a deck. Ellis said the would be 6-8 weeks to get started. I checked with Ellis on August 29th. Ellis said they were still waiting on a permit from the city. I called the city of Kettering after 6 weeks. Kettering said there were no permits filed for a deck. September 11th, Ellis said they just submitted for the permit. Fast forwarding through three months and dozens of texts, calls, and failed inspections. Our deck was completed JANUARY 16th!!! Nearly 6 MONTHS after we started. I really can't express the frustration we encountered using Affordable Fence Builders. Lonnie and Ellis seem like nice guys, but we would never hire them again.

Instead of recognizing their error and placing me higher on their installation list, I was placed on bottom. I did not hear from them between April and end of May, and did not hear from them as to when my fence would be installed. At the beginning of July, I emailed about my frustration with lack of communication and how long this was taking since I approved the quote in April. They responded that day and the next week, they showed up to install. Contractor said it would be two days. With no additional clarification, I assumed that day and the next. Nope, that day and another day.....no information given as to when the second day would be. We had a Kentucky board, western style fence installed to keep 2 dogs in, with two access gates. Within 10 seconds of letting my dogs out, one of them got out of the fence at the gate. Come to fine out the gage of fence used behind the Kentucky board is bendable by hand. When I contacted the owner, he said this was not a normal problem. I find that hard to believe as my dog is nothing special. We had to fix the new fence ourselves. We have had to fix several additional places where the gage of the original fence is not holding up. It's too week and I can bend it myself. Decent work, quality of the product is poor, and communication is pitiful at best. Not worth the cheaper price - you get what you pay for.......

Several posts have bent over from the wind. I was actually told by one of the employees that type of fence should've never been installed due to the high winds we get. Now he won't return my texts about it. Avoid this pos company like the plague. On top of everything else, when they have came out to work on it they always leave a mess. Piles of dirt and concrete lying around, etc. They claim to stand by their 8 year warranty. Good luck!
