I have good teeth, good dental hygiene, never had a cavity, and floss pretty regularly, but they always pressured me into getting an x-ray of my teeth. I don't carry dental insurance and just pay for my checkups as I go, so an extra x-ray when I didn't think it was necessary was not what I was looking for. Dr. Thomas and his staff were great! So happy I found them. No pressure and they do a great job. Competitive prices too if you're not using insurance. I'm very happy I found them.

Thankfully, Today's Dentistry was able to get me in the same day--and I'm so glad they did. Dr. Cuong and Sam went above and beyond, staying over 2 hours past closing to make sure everything was done properly and that I was completely taken care of. Not only did they handle the root canal flawlessly, but they also took care of a neighboring tooth with a crown and a filling to make sure everything is set up perfectly for my next visit. The entire experience was completely pain-free--even the numbing shots, which honestly surprised me. The whole team was incredibly kind and attentive. Tara at the front desk even let me use her phone charger when my phone was about to die, which just shows the level of care they provide. The office itself is beautiful and uses top-of-the-line equipment. I also really appreciated their transparency with billing--they show worst-case scenario pricing upfront so there are no surprises, and they actively work to reduce your costs wherever possible. I'm traveling, so I could not stay for the Crown procedure, but I was advised to get it done when I return home back in Wisconsin. The Dentist here in Galveston did such a great job by repairing the remaining part of the tooth and building it up, and filling the holes. Zero pain throughout the procedure, zero pain now, and a perfect bite. I give the Galveston Mint Dentistry my highest recommendation. Every single visit, I'm told I owe some deductible or extra charges that end up not being correct…read more I have repeatedly had to call my insurance company myself, and then insurance has had to contact the office to explain that I did NOT owe what they were trying to charge me. A major issue seems to be their insistence on unnecessary X-rays. They push for X-rays at every visit even though many insurance plans only cover them once a year, and depending on patient history they may not even be medically necessary that often. It feels more about billing than patient care. I also had a filling done by another dentist recently, and this office tried to tell me I suddenly needed additional filling work on that same tooth, which immediately raised red flags for me. Combined with seeing charges of around $600 billed to insurance for a basic cleaning and exam, the whole experience felt extremely questionable. Patients should double-check their insurance benefits and recommended treatments before agreeing to additional services here.
