What an awesome venue! I came for the Hollywood Fringe festival to support a good friend's play, 'Venus In Fur,' starring Rachael Meyers, Bryan McKinley, and directed by Amir Korangy! It was BRILLIANT! That's probably an understatment! The play was nuanced and exhilarating, and this is a duo you don't want to miss live if you ever get to see one of their productions! They truly knock it out every time! Parking was a little tricky, but this place is a gem. The art inside is timeless and fun, and I appreciate the spirit of keeping live theater alive! I am glad the Hollywood Fringe Festival revived my experience with this place for me, as I'd been here for a production that felt like it was put up purely out of boredom and access to capital, so my first impression was that it was a place that anyone could put up anything, but the fringe festival brought truly phenomenal work to the forefront, and I look forward to coming back!

What an iconic venue! Went to see a play/theatre performance during the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June and fell in love with the place. Arrived early to find parking (which was east to find). My friend found parking on the side streets and we strolled up to the venue 15 minutes early. Instead of standing outside we went into the bar. Yes there is a full bar at this theatre. Loved that in this bar that actors/performers are talking about the shows they've seen, shows they are starring in and posted postcards that are happening! After listening to these events we stroll to our chosen show, check in and enter the main stage. A large venue with abundant seating and 2 restrooms. Apparently there are a few other stages. So The Broadwater is available for every performer's budget. So amazing!

Saw a show here during Hollywood Fringe fest earlier this week and had a great experience. It's a very intimate theater and the sound quality was good. There isn't a bad seat in the house! It's definitely an older theater so the seats weren't that comfortable but it was still fairly well maintained. The outside is also fun with great signage. The restrooms were also clean and in good order. Parking is pretty easy in the area and I was able to find a meter a block away.

Cute little theater on the Hollywood Fringe circuit. We'll air-conditioned and clean bathrooms. Limited seating so get in line early, but nice venue for indie shows.

Back row seat, still very close to the stage

Intimate, modest theatre. I sat in the very back row, but could still see the actors' faces clearly. I saw a heavy, well-executed play about grief. It was an abstract concept play featuring just the performers, so I can't comment on set decoration. I didn't risk it, but there is apparently plenty of street parking nearby. Grab a pre- or post-show drink at the classy little bar next door, the Broadwater Plunge.

A theatre multiplex. Really cool theatre spaces...home base for Fierce Backbone, a playwrights group, they do readings once a month on a morning. Also Sacred Fools Theatre lives here. The spaces are rentable. ...I loved getting to the reading in a 88 seat house with racked seats thru the backstage area...a glimpse into how the sausage is made. Street parking and metered parking.

The Broadwater Theater is off Santa Monica Boulevard with the entrance a makeshift loading ramp on Lillian Way, a block east of Cahuenga. I was invited to a dress rehearsal without knowing a thing about the play. The stage is big and the theater has a high beam ceiling. Sound was clear from the ensemble cast in this 2 hour plus mystery. The staging was well done and while the stage was very big enabling the allusion of two separate rooms, the theater was comfortable and the play maintained my interest all the way to the end with effective acting.

Such an incredible space for the arts in a much needed community of LA. I've been coming to this…read moretheater now for almost 3 years and I have loved every visit. Truly not many other spaces like it, which makes it one of a kind.

Please support this beautiful little local theater! Located in Westlake, this venue conveniently…read morehas a large parking lot for its patrons. I came here with friends to watch Rayuela Hacia EL Mas Alla. It was all in Spanish, but for those like me that only have 2 years of high school Spanish, there were subtitles projected on the top of the stage. The play was a dark comedy with a little bit of everything. It had humor, drama, terror, a love story and a "non-hollywood ending." Going in with an open mind and not knowing what the play was about, I was blown away. Parts of the play made me think of Guillermo Del Toros Pans Labyrinth and Kurt Vonnegut from my AP English class in high school. With its morbid beauty and dystopian setting. It amazed me how such a large story could be played out on such a small stage with just a few actors through the use of lighting, minimal props, and and the expression of those actors. Kudos to Laura Santa Cruz and Manuel Chitay for a wonderful performance. It was very creative how they used the same projector to animate the clocks and show the passage of time. As well as (not to give anything away) execute certain scenes. This play is very unique in the sense that every few weeks they change the ending and have a different actress. Which not only brings a different take on the story but keeps you coming back for more.
