The owner, Sam, is frequently present, which is a testament to their dedication. I am thrilled they have established their business in Mid City and wouldn't dream of seeking alternative service providers.

I want to be clear that I am leaving this review based on an interaction my wife and I had simply…read morewhile walking past this business -- not as a customer. On the morning of April 19th we were visiting town and walking by MidCity New And Used Tires on our way to a nearby coffee shop. I'm a tall, brown-skinned man with locs, and my wife is mixed with curly hair. As we approached the shop, we noticed three men sitting outside. One of them, who I later had an issue with, was about 5'9", had a short haircut with a low fade, and noticeable neck tattoos. The others were a heavier-set man with curly hair and a thinner man with longer curly hair. As we walked past, the man with the low fade noticed us and began speaking in Spanish. At first, he was sitting on top of a truck, but as he started talking, he stood up. He spoke quickly -- too fast for me to catch what he said initially -- but it seemed like he was testing whether we understood Spanish. When we looked at him without responding, he seemed to think it was safe to continue. Speaking louder now and in a sing-song tone, he said something along the lines of "Señora...something something...culo" -- although he pronounced it more like "cuelo." Whether it was slang or a mispronunciation, the meaning was clear: he was making an inappropriate comment about my wife's body, directly in front of me. The reason I'm describing all three men is because, as prior military, my wife and I were trained to observe and assess our surroundings carefully. In situations like this, one individual's disrespect endangers everyone present if no one steps in to correct it. While my main issue is with the individual who spoke, I hold the other two accountable for staying silent. And while part of me was ready to confront them -- all of them -- I chose not to. That's not who I want to be. My wife is pregnant, and protecting her and our family was my priority, not reacting to ignorance. I'm posting this review to inform the owner of what happened, and to warn others who might consider doing business here. If an employee feels bold enough to disrespect a woman and her husband to their faces -- simply because he assumed we wouldn't understand -- it raises serious concerns about their integrity and what other predatory behavior he might be capable of, especially toward women seeking service here alone.

This shop has consistently assisted me with repairs, updating wear and tear. I asked if they could get it to a point where it will last a bit longer. They were kind, suggested that it was time to let it go, but agreed to work with me - I had a budget in mind. They worked within that budget and gave me a number of things to look for. Very kind, very supportive, but also kept me realistic. Highly recommend.

Initially, I brought my car there to get a diagnostic which it was determined my car essentially needed new brakes, rooters, hubs, etc. (you name it). My car is an 07 Camry, so I understood why the fixes were necessary. The issue came came afterwards, when it was shown that I needed to have repairs to the repairs they had made after I brought my car back for timing belt issues (which they did not diagnose initially). I brought the car back to get the timing belt issue resolved because the car continued to make loud screeching noises when I accelerated. After the timing belt was fixed, my car ran ok for another week then the starter and the battery went out on the car. I brought it back here after spending $8 over the matter of a three month period- they charged me for a diagnostic and told me I needed a new battery and starter now. I felt it ridiculous to have to pay for another diagnostic after spending thousands at this location in such a short window (mind you, this was summer 2025). The police was called and I still ended up paying for the diagnostic. About a week ago, I heard the screeching sound and my wheel is starting to vibrate rapidly again as I'm breaking which indicates the timing belt is still not properly repaired. When I called them back to look at the work they did on my car considering I am having timing belt issues again, they gave me a number to call and said I could not bring my car back to them. Y'all be careful and mindful of who you allow to work on your cars, not all business believe in integrity and customer satisfaction-this car repair shop is all about getting your money. I would stay far away from them!!!!!

In March, I came in with a nail in my tire and they replaced the tire. While doing so, they did a general inspection, which included a brake fluid check. All good. I picked my car up the same day and everything seemed fine. Since I picked up my car in March, no one went under the hood of my car until last night (almost 11 weeks later). I stopped by another company to get an oil change. The workers were shocked that I had no brake fluid cap on my reservoir. They had to get the manager involved and do internal documentation because it's a safety issue. Important for later, this company doesn't do brake work, and they told me to go to a mechanic immediately the next morning. My mistake was thinking I should go back to this Firestone, since they were the last people under the hood of my car. Writing a review didn't even cross my mind when I learned of the missing cap (even if it should have--if you're not familiar, look up why they are important). It's what happened when I went to get a new cap and brake bleed that the reason I'm writing this review. The Firestone employee on duty was antagonistic from the start. It was just me and her in the room. I explained the situation. I wasn't there to debate who did it, but she was. I was told that it couldn't have been them because if they forgot my brake cap "I wouldn't have made it a mile down the road" (false, moisture leading to brake damage or failure would take time). I was told the oil change company I went to was trying to screw me over. When I explained why that didn't make sense (they took it for fun and told me to go get someone else to fix it since they don't do brakes...?) I was told that it must have been the people that did my oil change BEFORE this last one (which was almost a year ago at this point). I explained that that would mean this Firestone has had my car 3 times, checked the brake fluid 3 times, and never notified me the cap was missing. I then said "I'm sorry, but I don't know what to tell you. You were the last people under the hood, unless you're telling me someone broke into my car and stole my cap." I said this was a safety issue, but I was told to relax and again told that "if something were to happen, it would've happened back in March" (again, wrong). I told her I wanted a new cap and a brake bleed. She apparently didn't know what a brake bleed was and instead looked at me like I didn't know what I was saying. I couldn't believe the entire exchange when I left. There was a different, nice lady I spoke to when I went to pick my car up. She asked me what happened because the service write up in the computer wasn't clear to her. I explained. I started to tell her that I have never had an issue there and was disappointed in my experience this morning when I was cut off by the woman I dealt with earlier coming from the back. She acted completely different now that someone else was in the room. She made comments like "I don't know all about this stuff" and "we even did extra work and did a brake bleed" (not extra work, and after looking at me crazy for asking for one in the morning). I was polite and said thank you but had no interest in conversing with her while the other woman rang me up. After a some silence, the woman from the morning goes, out of nowhere, "we can point fingers all we want, but at least it's done." I was FLOORED (and by the look of the woman checking me out, so was she). I started to tell her I wasn't looking to point fingers, but she cut me off and said that she "didn't mean anything by it." I just said nothing the remainder of the time and got myself out of there. Entirely ridiculous, unprofessional, and quite literally the worst customer service I've ever had.
