As soon as I walked in there was a lot of Canadian Souvenirs Stuff like Toys, T Shirts, Key Chains, Pins, Maple Syrups, and exc... I ended up buying myself some Canadian Souvenirs for myself as well!!! If there wasn't a time limit from our tour guide... I would stay a little bit longer at the G2 Canada Gift Sop and look at all the Canadian Stuff that G2 Canada Souvenir store has!!! First Nations artwork reproduced and applied to hundreds of everyday items make this a great gift stop for tourists to the Island. I would definitely think of stopping in here to pick up some unusual items for our friends south of the border. I picked up a gift for my niece or nephew. The salesperson was very helpful when I mentioned I was looking for a gift. From the website I learned this is a Native - owned shop opened in 1987. In fact the owner is a relative of Chief Wickaninnish! They also work with artists and are able to assist customers with ordering custom made items. I also thought this was an interesting tidbit: "The Wickaninnish Gallery is named after a powerful First Nations chief, Chief Wickaninnish of the Tla-o-qui-aht People from Clayoquot Sound on Vancouver Island. The name Wickaninnish translates to "having no one in front of him in the canoe". During the time of European contact, Chief Wickaninnish was a highly revered leader and was very influential in the fur trade." There is no shortage of NW Coast art in Vancouver, but this little gallery is affordable, Native - owned, and carries some nice pieces. May you have no one in front of you in the canoe!

There was a nice variety of merchandise: t-shirts, tote bags, magnets, backpacks, scarves, scrolls, and terra cotta warriors! There are a lot of NCAA sports wear options -- to a level I haven't seen in a Canadian store. Their best feature is their retro stuff: From defunct teams the Sonics (see my cap photo) to teams from defunct leagues (All American Football, minor league baseball, Basketball Association of America, etc). For a Canucks fan, it was cool to not only find stuff from the early era (blue, green, hockey stick), the 90s (blazing blade era), 00s (blue totem design), and an abundance of more contemporary items. My favorite is the fact they had Vancouver Millionaires gear! They also have cool items I haven't seen elsewhere, like the game-worn jersey wallet. So Vancouver are using an old name and an old team and have launched their brand new MLS team and a wonderful one at that. They do a really great job and I'm happy that the Pacific Northwest of the USA now has a nearby rival in Canada because it really adds something to the league. They just need to be a little bit stronger sporting wise to compete with the likes of Seattle and Portland. As for the store... While admittedly it is quite expensive to buy merchandise from the Vancouver Whitecaps, it's still a great symbol of Vancouver and something which this city doesn't really do in some of the other sports, so it's great that the people of Vancouver have their own sport and their own crest and their own shirts now. I ordered a ladies jersey for a gift to one of Whitecaps' biggest fans, rather than the one I ordered they sent 3 men's jerseys, different sizes, and one at a time. The online store is apparently not capable of fulfilling simple online orders even after a lot of time and patience trying to resolve. The instructions for refund require me to put one of the wrong jerseys into a US mail drop. I live in CANADA where the whitecaps are based. The border is closed. I will donate to a charity instead. Really disappointed in the Whitecaps organization for directing Canadian customers to a USA company with such poor customer service.

All the employees were very friendly and let you shop in peace. After I paid for the sweats I bought, the lady said I can get $10 off my next purchase of $50+. My father was the next person to pay for his sweater and she said if I did the survey she would take the $10 off my dad's purchase. Since there was no one else in line I did it. My family had a better experience at this Roots store and the next time we're in Vancouver we'll be sure to shop at this location!
