Then every Tuesday the children would go to a family owned miniature golf place. Wednesdays would be pool day.. spend half the day with the children at the local public outdoor pool. thursdays would be bowling day.. get to go bowling at the local bowl america. fridays would be movie and event day.. movies in the morning.. and events in the afternoon (fair, petting zoo, circus, magic show, etc.). definitely send your child there if you live in the area! sure beats those other summer camp programs!

I regret enrolling my daughter here. Despite committing early (touring in Feb 2024, paying a…read moredeposit, and submitting all forms), the school's lack of communication, disorganization, and disregard for basic safety and hygiene created a deeply frustrating and emotionally exhausting year. From misplaced incident reports and unaddressed injuries, to administrative errors and tone-deaf leadership, this school consistently failed to provide a safe, transparent, and developmentally supportive environment. My daughter came home with swollen lips, unexplained bruises, missing shoes, and stories of peer mistreatment -- with no formal documentation provided, despite repeated requests. These were not isolated events; I have video/photo documentation, and other parents voiced similar concerns in meetings. The director's conduct was both inappropriate and hypocritical -- once sending me a photo of my 3-year-old with paper in her mouth and demanding I "talk to her about telling the truth" over a harmless joke (gum from dad), while gaslighting parents about emails that were never sent. We were made to feel like the problem, when in reality the school's tech systems, operations, and staffing plans were simply broken. Staffing was unstable -- the lead teacher left for maternity leave with no real succession plan. Parents were informed of changes through hallway gossip before any official notice. Other red flags included: * Poor nap hygiene (child's skin broke out); * No proper underwear/clean clothes sent home; * Unsafe food handling policies; * Lost orthopedic shoes due to mishandling after an accident -- only replaced after escalation; * Inconsistent behavioral reporting, with my child being singled out for normal 3-year-old behavior, while aggressive peer behavior went unaddressed all year. The school showed a lack of respect for working parents, sending critical updates (like school closures) late at night and offering no accessible options for required events (no childcare, no virtual options, last-minute notices). They ran meetings on free Zoom accounts that cut off mid-call, used free Gmail accounts, and misunderstood basic tools like unlisted YouTube links. My concerns were dismissed, incident reports were never filed, and when I reported this to the county, I was told it was "too late." Given how long and hard I tried to resolve these issues internally -- and my documentation of events -- this only added to the heartbreak. In hindsight, I should have trusted my gut and pulled my child out much earlier. If you're a parent considering this school, please ask hard questions about staff turnover, behavior policies, safety reporting, and operational transparency. And if something feels off -- trust yourself.

Will only state the facts that lead to this review…read more.. In preparation for our move to VA this year, my family and I have been searching for a suitable Montessori school within this area. After speaking with Cardinal several times via the phone we felt that this might be a great option. A few weeks ago, my wife had scheduled a school tour and staff meet with Cardinal's senior coordinator (not official title) to allow us to see a routine day at the school and view its operation. We scheduled the tour for a Friday, which we were told was not "normal" but would be allowed given the fact that my family had to drive 5+ hours to get there. The tour was locked on that Monday with a 0930 start time on Friday. We had no other communication from the school throughout the week and on Thursday afternoon, we hit the road after I had gotten off work and arrived in VA just after midnight. We were up the following Friday morning and arrived at Cardinal at 0910 to an empty parking lot, locked building, lights off, and no one on site... We sat, waited, and attempted to call anyone with no luck and no response. It was about 0930 when finally a car pulled up and a women was dropped off. She didn't engage us at all and simply walked into the school. My wife proceeded to knock on the door and was met by said women who appeared to be cleaning. My wife explained our situation to the women who simply laughed, nodded, and said that the school was closed due to a maintenance emergency. A few minutes later, another women arrived who identified herself as a teacher. We calmly explained how we were scheduled to meet with a Ms. Igera for our tour but had not been able to reach her or anyone else. The teacher looked surprised and quickly reiterated that the school had been closed for the last few days. She then pulled out her phone and said she would call the "school owner" who was already on her way to Cardinal. At approx. 0945 the school co-owner arrived and welcomed us inside. We explained, again, who we were and why we were there. She quickly apologized and then explained how the school closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to plumbing issues. They had sent all the students and staff home and were now back (Friday morning) in order to clean for the reopening on Monday. She didn't ask any further about the botched tour appointment, but rather tried to go right into her pitch for the school. At the end of the walk-through, we were on our way out the door when we asked for Ms. Igera to call us about the clear failure in communication. The Co-owner said she would, glorified her staff, and said she hoped we would consider them when we moved... Fast forward 2+ weeks later....we got that call.... And it was to schedule yet another tour at the school. Nothing more. The level of complete disregard, disrespect, and sheer unprofessionalism that went into this waste of time is truly astounding. For better perspective, here is a better overview of all my family and I sacrificed in order to simply VISIT the school and observe its operation. - late night drive 5+ hours after work. - pulled my 4yo daughter out of current school in order to see the Cardinal school and meet the teachers. - my wife is 7 months pregnant at the time of all this. And she had to make all these movements. - I scheduled a full day away from work to make this trip happen. - spent hundreds on gas to make the round trip. Along with paying for a hotel in order to stay overnight... The Cardinal school may do just fine in some things, but I find it hard to imagine what. The coordination, communication, and lack of accountability is frightening. To make a commitment to an outside family who is willing to spend thousands on the betterment of their children's care and education and then not even have the courtesy to communicate a simple appointment change is unacceptable. I would HIGHLY encourage any family seeking a Montessori program to move on and explore other options (military families or otherwise). I have nothing negative to post about the teachers who work here, simply the lack of efficient and effective administrative overview of the school itself. This was not a sophisticated encounter, but rather a simple and what I would image routine engagement with an interested party. If this is how they treat an unaffiliated party, how do they respond under higher stress situations? Who actually maintains the schools appointments? Who is charge of registrations? Etc... Bottom line, keep searching. There are other great options within this region of VA, as my family and I learned. So disappointed to leave a review of this manner on a Montessori related establishment, but title alone does not guarantee quality. I truly hope this review can bring about a greater awareness of the low standard practices at Cardinal.

I thought it was strange but I went with it! idk how you can judge how a child is going to do or what they can do in a 15 min visit. Seemed very inaccurate to me. She said she would follow up with is but never did so I reached out to see because you we had not heard from them in about 2 weeks very unprofessional to me. I said Good Evening! I'm just following up about my son to see if he has gotten into your program? If not please let me know, so I can look into getting him in another Kindergarten program before spots are all filled up. Her response was thank you for your email. We are sorry but your son didn't make it into our program. We wish you the best. No explanation to why or not! I'm really upset because his pediatrician recommended this place thought it would be a great place for him to thrive but they passed judgment on my son without giving him the chance. As a military family this is disheartening. This is how they treat the people who serves this country's kids with a disability.

Everbrook Academy of Gainesville has been a Godsend for our family. If I could give this daycare…read moremore stars, I would. We were part of Everbrook before Ms Tina made the courageous decision to shut the school down and clean up shop. She really got rid of the drama, cleaned up the space, and made it into a professional daycare/school. During the time it was shut down, we went to Everbrook Bristow which was great but too far away for our family. We then went to another daycare.... And the experience was awful. We were in a school which teachers did not engage with the children and did not care when children were fighting in the classroom. Our daughter started having nightmares, picking up these unwanted behaviors, and started having the most intense tantrums. I reached out to Principal Tina, she sat down with my husband and I for a couple hours while we explained the situation and what we needed help with. Ms Tina assured us we would be a team and Everbrook would be professional at all times. And let me tell you, we have a completely different child in about a month of coming back to Everbrook. My child's language abilities have exploded! She's 2 and asking "can I play with you?". She also says many 3-4 word sentences. Her behavior has immensely improved and we have not had ANY nightmares! Her teacher, Ms Huesna, really knows what she's doing. I see her down engaging with the kids and creating activities for the kids to learn all the time! Everbrook Academy of Gainesville is where you want to send your children for them to THRIVE!

My 2 year old is in a physical therapy program, during the pandemic his therapy was strictly virtual.I was required to sign a document that stated "should the center be unable to reasonably accommodate my child's needs" he would be disenrolled. I assured the director Sarah Zirzow that he was an independent and active average 2 year old they did not need any "special" privileges or accommodations yet we were still denied a fair treatment. I took her actions as a simple inexperience in working with children with disabilities and abided by the rules. 1st day the incident reports began piling up. He was sent home with multiple reports of violent behavior which sounded nothing like my child. The director made the decision to not allow him to come back for the remainder of the week and put together a 3 strike contract terminating him from the program. My child was disenrolled in less than 3 weeks. I have made over a dozen contacts to the corporate office at the Learning Group asking for a call back and no one has yet to return my call. The center charged us for a month and a half worth of daycare expenses and has made further unauthorized charges against our checking account 4 weeks after his disenrollement date. A billing specialist at the leaving group finally informed me that my refund would not mailed for 7-9 weeks! I have sent multiple emails since requesting videos of the allegations, copies of incidents they reported that were never provided to me, an explanation to my refund.. none of which have been responded to. The center staff was very pleasant during the enrollment process but have very little to no experience in managing an educational program and caring for small children. The new center has not reported a single incident in nearly 4 weeks.... I feel so guilty putting my child through whatever happened at this center during that 3 weeks and not trusting my first instinct. Below is a link to the Virginia State licensing violation against this center showing clear negligence, poor training by this staff. https://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/search/cc2.cgi?rm=Inspection;Inspection=111266;ID=44548;search_contains_zip=20155;search_keywords_name=Everbrook%20;search_require_client_code-2101=1 Courtney R.: I have. I have called MULTIPLE times and requested a call back. Took Stephanie over a month to call me back to tell me there was a miscommunication and that my unfortunate experience would be used to better train your staff. That's comforting to know. I was also promised a same day update on my refund which was 4 days ago. All I got was an email that said you'll contact me back with an update. You have my information and know how to contact me yet you don't. Your 800 number is useless

I once wrote a review praising this daycare and I meant it then. Since then they have hired and loss MOST of the good staff there. My grandson has attended this center for almost 3 years and once the new director came in staff turn over started. They hire ANYONE that can work for 16/hr. First teacher my grandson said hit him. Nothing was done! Same teacher not watching the kids a week later some how let the ENTIRE toddler class roam out of the gates near the street and a lady brought them back. (Check licensing report)-Terminated her. Next teacher comes in and behavior changes in my grandson. He said she is pinching him and an occasion happened where another person saw this staff member on the front cameras grab my 3 yr old grandson by the arm pushing him out of the class to the playground crying, we asked to see cameras (they don't record)- she is placed on leave, next thing you know write up slips start multiple a day (never got 1 before this incident), calls to pick him up multiple times a week teacher returns to work "unfounded" or unreported I think- I am in process of checking that out now. She is back and now he is 3 years old terminated because he "shook" the gate and broke it. Welcome the new Director Cindy Maddox who NO ONE informed us she is new taking Jennifer's place. But they can call and tell you my grandson took his shoes off isn't listening and needs to be picked up. Cindy Maddox who knows NOTHING but hear say from staff and she terminates his care without talking to the parents or a meeting at least. No letter, no call from her no call from corporate just a call from Sara to pick up his items. Infants sit in buggy's more then they do play so staff can sit and chat at the tall tables in the SAC room. School age kids on toddler play ground watching toddlers with staff because there isn't enough staff to staff the center. The school age kids are picking up toddlers and babysitting for the center. If a child hurts a toddler who is responsible? This isn't a BEWARE because there are good teachers there for the right reason. This is COVER up abuse and allowing this to happen to prevent loss of anyone else because currently there are about 5 teachers 2 directors remaining here. Then the treatment because they have helped my daughter with allowing payment plans and helped with fees and we are forever grateful however, that does not allow you to treat ANY parent or child any differently. This is 100% retaliatory against a 3 year old and I plan to take proper channels to address this. For those interested in this center Id look into it full throttle before you do. OH... they have fancy cameras in the entrance that don't record. According to Management the company knows they don't record and its their right to have them record so no they do not record!!! You pay fees to do EVERYTHING there but they cant have the cameras record for children, family and staff safety. This is heart breaking to leave a place we once called home and family but at the end of the day they are there for checks not the kids and could care less. Response to the facility- my grandson is 3 his behavior "issues" DID NOT start until we reported physical abuse (pinching by a teacher and a report to CPS)". Lets note that. The gate he "broke" shaking and was the reason to be terminated by phone no meeting, no documentation a call to terminate when this was the similar gate that got opened by toddlers and they wondered off and was found by a passer-by. This is NOT factual this is a smooth cover up. Any excuse is a good one I guess. But Yes, future families look into these people and talk to your kids daily if they go here. Behavior changes is a red flag and DO NOT report to them call CPS immediately they will cover it up!! Good Luck!

I walk in every few days to pick my child up and she looks so upset and unhappy when I arrive; like she relieved someone is there to take her out of the jungle. The excuse they give is she's tired. I don't think so. After 6 years, we were forced into this daycare when our Miniland closed due to low enrollment. I loved Ms Tina and her staff, minus the assistant, Sarah who does not know how to keep her nose out of family affairs. You can really tell Ms Tina loves her job. Not Merit. They all look like they hate life. I am looking for a new daycare that can accommodate my child with special needs instead of sitting her in front of a tv that isn't even turned on. One that is clean, doesn't yell at the kids and at least has hand sanitizer available. The building smells like a gymnasium with all the coats and book bags on the floors. They herd the kids into 1 room and it's so loud between the kids yelling and playing and the staff screaming at them. I'm so disgusted. This one should have closed or be closed by the health department. I don't even know that it rates a negative 10. Can you go lower?
