As local papers go this is a good example of decent coverage of local happenings. You can be sure that if something big kicks off, such as the terror alert a couple of years ago or the Weston-super-Mare pier fire (they have a couple of North Somerset offices), that the Post will be at the heart of it reporting from the frontline. Granted, there is plenty of pretty dull bread and butter stories - local councillors grumbling about something or other, a family moaning about bin collections or schoolchildren doing gardening but then that all matters to someone. They have a decent weekly jobs section, property supplement and motors pages too. Finally, the Crackerjack ents pages of this paper are pretty good and they tend to cover the majority of gigs in the city. read more
