Waste of my time. I showed up to have papers served and was told I would have to call and come back later. This is time sensitive summons that needs to be served ASAP. I called this guy hours ago and have yet to get a reply. Ultimately I just went to an office run by the actual Bristol county sheriffs civil process div in Taunton and was not turned away, or told to call a number that no one answers . The sheriffs deputy I dealt with in Taunton was kind and professional, and to be fair so was the constable who said he couldn't take my paper work that I would have to call first. if you must use this place CALL FIRST don't just show up like I did read more

I am a California Private Investigator and needed a summons and complaint served on a Fall River resident on a CA case. I contacted Bristol County Civil Process and informed them I had already contacted the Defendant and he was willing to accept service at a time and place to be arranged with a phone call from Bristol. The service couldn't be any easier. I was quoted $55 and agreed to the price. The effected service a few days later and before they forward the Proof of Service they want payment by credit card..........No problem. Well until I got their invoice. The $55 quote became $80, a 45% increase!! So I don't pay it and I don't get the Proof of Service. Pretty shady billing practices if you ask me. So here is how THEY justified the 45% increase. They added $5 for printing fees because the total number of pages went over their limit of 15 pages. So the total number of pages was 18, so they charged me $5 to print the 3 extra pages. And to add insult to injury FOUR of the pages did not need to be printed. It was a 3 Defendant case and they printed the Proofs of Service and Statement of Damages for the other 2 defendants when they didn't need to. They only needed to print the Proof of Service and Statement of damages for the guy they were serving. Then they add $15 because the service was after 6:30pm. I have been doing this for over 25 years and I have never even heard of an added charge because the service was in the evening. Isn't that when most people are home and served?? Besides, THEY scheduled it with the Defendant, who was willing to accept it. If it is more difficult for them to serve when it "gets dark" then maybe they should have scheduled it during daylight hours. They also added $15 to there $45 "Summons" fee because it was an "in hand" service. So $60 for the "in hand" service that I arranged for them. Not sure where the $55 came from that they quoted. Please do NOT make the mistake I did of hiring Patrick Duddy. Duddy asked me to drop off my legal paperwork at his office. When I arrived, there was a note on the door asking paperwork to be left with the unrelated people in the upstairs office. There was not anyone in that office, but I left the confidential paperwork there in an envelope asking they pass on to Duddy. On my way out, there was Duddy in the parking lot, and he seemed frustrated and put-out that I had left the paperwork in the upstairs office. Days later I contacted Duddy by text for an update on the delivery of the documents. Even though I had texted with him before, he replied, "Who is this? What address?" Turns out he had served it and not notified me, stating simply "Yes it was served yesterday (sic) Returns will go out in the mail this afternoon." Several days later I received a couple of documents with my name spelled incorrectly throughout. I did not know that I was to bring those papers to the courthouse. I was just informed by the courts that a constable is meant to return the documents to the courthouse directly so that a trial can be scheduled. All attempts to reach Duddy by text have gone unanswered. Surely there must be more competent and effective constables to take your $50! read more
