I didn't have much choice as all the hostels in Bristol were booked up on Saturday night back in June 2015 (dangers of traveling during the busy summer months). You can't book a bed online so you need to call to make a reservation. At the time, it was £17 per night. I already knew from online reviews, there were many residents (as opposed to backpackers) at the hostel. Unfortunately, I got assigned the worst bed in my cramped room. A top bunk near a beam, I had to be careful when making my bed so my head didn't bump it. The others in my room had their crap spread out, making the room feel so cramped. This is Bristol, so expect people to come back to your room late disrupting your sleep. Remember earplugs, headphones and sleeping mask!! I found the showers to be full during the day so better to shower at night. No hand or paper towels so you'll have to shake the water off your hands. The kitchen seemed cramped with all the bins labeled with guest's names. I couldn't find any cooking oil nor other common food items when cooking. On the plus side, the hostel is in a central location, had a movie room and a lot of common space. read more
